Just a thought... we all know how big downloading albums illegally is on sites such as it-leaked, strikegently and what not by us, the fans, but what about the bands we listen to? Have any band members talked about this? It's pretty well known that most of the bands on this site have little income and go from show to show with gas money made the night before soooo yeah...

I was actually thinking about this the other day. They probably do. I know the drummer from a fairly popular pop punk band who was asking me for an invite code to Demonoid.

Uhh, why wouldn't they?
If they barely have enough money for food and gas on tour, why would they spend it buying CDs?

hahaha ya.
i'm a member of it-leaked, what, waffles, demonoid, all of those. i don't feel to hypocritical though, 'cause i gave my record away on AP...multiple times. i give it away to anyone who asks, and i also purchase music. i keep all of my receipts through the year no matter what. so when i was doing my taxes 2 weeks ago, i got to total up how much i spent on music in the last year. guess how much? $1067.42, and that's not including when i get store credit for trading CD's in and getting others in return. i spend a shit-ton of money on music, and i still download a lot of music, too. i feel like it evens out for the most part, for me, personally, at least. i don't have many other friends who can say they spent over 1k on CDs & vinyl & iTunes last year, so idk, i don't usually feel guilty about it.

They do, a front man for quite a popular band on this site admitted he did on his blog a few months back when making his best of 08 list. Fair play to him i say.

When The Chariot were over in the UK a month or so ago they said we could download the new album as they didn't know when it would be out in over here. Regardless of such permission, I'll still never illegally download.

Nine Inch Nails, DJ/Rupture, and Billy from Hot Cross were all members of OiNK.

Uh, yeah. Bands are (usually) human, like everyone else.
