Whats the best way for your music to be heard? Any suggestions would be great.

Put it on myspace, purevolume, etc and just promote the shit out of it. Add friends, whatever. Play shows. That helps a great deal. Hand it out. Don't charge for it in the beginning. Have it recorded so it doesn't sound like you recorded it in a mausoleum with a tin can and a string.

playing shows is probably the best way to get music out there. it takes awhile to establish yourself, sure. but if you play shows at several venues periodically, and start handing out demo CDs or legit recorded CDs at those shows, in time you'll pick up some regular fans as long as you arent completely terrible.
on a record player, durr.

Amen to that. If you have good songs and can put a little money into recording decent demos, that will go a long way.
Play it louder.
No joke. Fucking man up and play louder.

Actually, please be the only band with a cerebral moment at your next gig and realize that if all the amps are on 11, you're losing all the detail. Turn down, go lower wattage. Mics and monitors exist for a reason.
In other news, open mics are not to be feared. If your music can't be played at an open mic, it's time to start considering its versatility, and how wide an audience you really want to reach. If it only works at a rock venue with other bands in your genre, it's going to be hard to make it out of that little circle.
To affect wide audiences, you must have versatile music. Can you play it acoustic? Can you play it blusier? Can you play it and blow the windows out? Nobody likes a one trick pony.

This.
It also doesn't hurt to have at least one person in your band who is completely dedicated to getting your band's name out there. Don't be afraid to ask different venues/bigger local bands for shows. Eventually they'll give in, and you'll get an opportunity to play in front of bigger audiences.

Like they said before, Myspace, Purevolume, playing shows. Don't be afraid to horde your stuff and blow it all up at once, people like when alot of action is going on, such as a new myspace layout, a new song, some tour dates, or a free download on purevolume. You want to give them a reason to come to your page, and an even better reason to stay and want to return.

Itunes, myspace, purvolume, etc.
Do everything but play in:
1. Bars (meaning, small rooms where people are eating dinner/drinking while your dumbass is in the corner being obnoxiously loud)
2. Malls
3. Highschools (after graduating, of course)

Jango (http://musformation.com/2009/05/is-jango-worth-it.html) and Last.FM (http://musformation.com/2009/04/does-lastfms-powerplay-campaign-work.html) both have interesting things going on. We wrote about the results (http://musformation.com/2009/05/is-jango-worth-it.html) of bands getting heard on them recently.
The internet's probably your best bet for mass exposure. Get some decent recordings, up them everywhere you can, and promote like mad.
Also, play every local show you can lay your hands on. The only exception is playing at bars that aren't pretty well known for their shows.

Make good music. If you make good music, people will find out word of mouth. There's nothing worse then shitty bands that promote the hell out of their music. Such a waste of time.
