Is there any news of a NYC date for this show???
If they don't come back home, i'm going to be quite upset.

Well....if I am allowed to make a dream Anberlin setlist for this tour it would probably look like this (I'm hoping they will get an hour to play, but that might be pushing it)...I'm also going to try to make it a somewhat realistic dream set:
The Resistance
Never Take Friendship Personal
Breaking
Adelaide
Burn Out Brighter
The Unwinding Cable Car
A Day Late
Disappear
Dismantle.Repair
Godspeed
Paperthin Hymn
Feel Good Drag
Hmmm...That actually turned into more of what I think they might play on this tour. My dream set would include Ready Fuels, The Undeveloped Story, Naive Orleans, Stationary Stationery, and Time & Confusion but I think they would only bust songs like that out on a headlining tour.

Oh sweet, thanks.
The tour is supposed to go up to June 29, so I guess the NYC date will be the last one.

They had about 45 minutes yesterday at the radio show I saw them at and their set was pretty similar to that minus Burn Out Brighter and The Unwinding Cable Car.
I'm pretty sure they played
Disappear
NTFP
Paperthin Hymn
Breaking
A Day Late
Adelaide
Dismantle.Repair
The Resistance
Godspeed
Feel Good Drag
So I have a pretty good feeling thats what the set it going to be like on this tour.

Jack's. They're my number one band and I already paid $73 for a ticket. I'm trying to figure out if there's a way I can leave after it's done and still make it to the show but I don't think it's possible.

Every time I think about this tour I get more pissed off because Anberlin should be headlining. Ten songs is not enough for their amazing catalog. While TBS gets like 15-17 songs in which only a handful of them are worth a damn.
I almost don't want to spend $35 for like 15 songs that I will enjoy, but whatever. it has been awhile since I saw Anberlin so I will be there.

i agree with the fees being ridiculous. the prices are always enticing until you add on all of the obnoxious fees. but i wouldn't risk it if you really want to go. if you don't want to pay extra you should just take a ride down to the venue and get it there beforehand

Thanks for providing the stereotypical POV that has been present on this site since '04.
Also, ALL of TBS records are pretty inconsistent. Yes, even your precious Tell All Your Friends. Some of those jams are great but some just sound cringe-worthy as time has gone by (The "I want to hate you sooo badddd, but I CAAAAAAAAAAN'T" is just embarrassing by this point). I mean, if you still just love your music indebted to high school drama (and portraying like a Greek Tragedy) then, I guess I see your point.
As for Louder Now, some of that shit still rips. Error Operator in particular.
Anyone know when the Long Island show tixs go on sale???

We might even pull out some old tricks to keep you guys that follow our setlists guessing.
I'll be seeing this tour twice so I would LOVE to have a different set list each night.

I know that the band must be bored of playing songs from TAYF by now. The album has 10 songs so why not play a different 2 each night of the tour, i would be happy if I never heard cute without the 'e' or you're so last summer ever again.

June 19th. I'm definitely excited. I doubt they would, but it would be sweet if TBS played Spin. Love that song.
And am I the only person who actually likes Error Operator?
If Anberlin's set at my date is anything like that, I'll be happy. It'd be cool if they played Naive Orleans, but they probably won't.
And to be honest I've never listened to Envy on the Coast.. I'll check them out before the show so I'll know what to expect.
I also would love to hear both those songs. Naive Orleans is one of my favorites by Anberlin.

I'm really hoping for a 12 song set from Anberlin but I'm betting these 10:
The Resistance
NTFP
Adelaide
Haight St
Breaking
A Day Late
Dismantle.Repair
Godspeed
Paperthin Hymn
Feel Good Drag
Although...that leaves out Disappear and I would think that they would throw that in there too...maybe they won't play NTFP
Ugh they so should be headlining

Disappear is what they've opened with the last 3 times I've seen them. The intro plays right into it so I doubt they'd not open with it.

I expected pretty much everyone of those songs to be on there (with the exception of whisper)....sucks there isnt more old stuff, but they dont really have space for it :(
And really...it can't be that much of a let down...all of those songs are GREAT songs...but yeah I wish they could play more too

I'm pretty pleased with that set since they're only main support, but I definitely agree that "haight st" should be on there. They said they're changing up the set list every night though (or something along those lines) so maybe they'll throw it in a few shows.

I could be way off base on this but I swear they don't like to play it or something haha...it just seems that way.
I saw them play it once and it wasn't that solid so maybe they still don't have it down or something (Stephen was sick though when I saw it)
I saw them play a set right before Louder Now came out at a place in STL that was truly amazing.
It was all the great songs from TAYF (1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9), WYWTB (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8), and the 4 songs that were online before Louder Now came out (1, 2, 3, 7)
That set was golden. This one... not so much.

Odd.

its hard to play lapse or starving when you arent headlining.. those songs take up a lot of set time.
i personally like when they play x amount of truth just because i love that it leads right into vultures.

Taking Back Sunday and Envy on the Coast played an outdoors show yesterday in Orland Park by Chicago. I went just for nostalgic reasons because the older I've gotten, the more I've fallen out of love with TBS for some reason. I thought louder now was god awful but I used to love their first two albums.....anyways, taking back sunday was seriously HORRIBLE. I honest to god don't know if I've ever seen a worse live band. Adam misses about 60 percent of his lines and his voice sounded like he smokes 2 packs a day. It was almost laughable how terrible it was.

Yeah... but talking or texting is much worse to me because it's easier for the bands to notice that. Even if you don't like the band that's playing, at least show some respect, and shut up or put your phone away until they're done. It's really not that hard. People are douchebags.

i'm sorry but it's the band's job to grab our attention and keep us captivated, if I'm not interested, I'm not going to watch. It's not like their feelings are being shattered by seeing people text

So you're basically telling me that if Brokencyde's the opening act and I'm not intrigued one bit then I'm being rude for texting my friends what a joke the band is? Opening acts are there for a purpose...to make a name for themselves, if they can't do that, then I wont bother, it's happened before, it'll happen more down the road. If you can't hear the band because of other people talking, then you're at a shitty venue with horrible sound lol.

you should still have respect for the band (except perhaps in brokencyde's case, then go ahead). even if they may not be your cup of tea, they are up there trying to make a living and there is probably someone there who likes them.

The people at the venue just were asses. They could see that some of us were into Envy's set and proceeded to talk louder... and then decided to stand in front of us. I think being an ass like that is uncalled for. If you don't like the set that's cool. But don't be an ass because you see others liking the bands set.

Real surprised haight st. isnt on anberlins set, that has the potential to be a wicked summer song.
I won two free tickets to the show tomorrow in Indianapolis. However no one I know wants to go, so if anyone on here would like the other ticket I'd be glad to give it to you. Doors are at 6pm and I have to pick up the tickets at the box office. We'd obviously have to exchange cell numbers and meet up. PM me or reply here if you're interested!
I'd be interested in it. I'll send you a pm.

i'm sorry but it's the band's job to grab our attention and keep us captivated, if I'm not interested, I'm not going to watch. If my mind starts wandering and I begin talking or looking at my phone, I clearly have no interest on stage and opening bands know this. It's not like their feelings are being shattered by seeing people text
Are you serious? You can't at least be respectful for a half hour until they finish? Especially if you're in one of the first few rows and there are people directly around you who are obviously into the band. Take it from someone who's experienced this several times: Your unnecessarily loud conversations and blindingly bright cell phone light are ruining the show for the people who actually want to be there. Have some respect. It's honestly not that hard. What is the point of going to a show if you're just going to stand there talking through it? Is it really that physically impossible for some people to shut their mouths for the length of a band's set? Comments here and there are fine, but full-blown conversations should be saved for between sets or after the show.

Really about 20% sure I'm even gonna bother with this show. TBS isn't playing enough from TAYF. Maybe if they started to play There's No I in Team, Ghost Man On Third, Timberwolves, You Know How I Do, Cute Without The E EVERY SINGLE NIGHT of this tour, then it'd be worth the 25ish bucks I may spend on this.
Anberlin will be on tour again in the fall, and that's really who I'd be more interested in seeing as it is.

I heard at pointfest they played Hello Alone, but it was a shorter set, and they dropped Cable Car, Disappear, and A Day Late. I don't know if they're gonna keep Hello Alone on the set or not.
On a somewhat related note, I wonder if they'll ever play anything from Blueprints and the less popular NTFP songs again...

I saw the majority of this line-up at Pointfest this past Saturday or what it should be called, SUPER JOCK BROFEST. Anberlin was very solid, they had a good mix of all their records for their set, being only 30 minutes, sadly at the moment I can not come up with titles. Taking Back Sunday was also solid during their set, but however they must of felt the crowd was too stupid to know any songs from Tell All Your Friends that isn't Cute Without The E, so their set was filled with mostly songs from New Again and Louder Now. They did play Where You Want To Be and A Decade Under The Influnce from WYWTB however.

Anberlin absolutely killed Boulder last night. Taking Back Sunday was great as well, but did anyone else notice that Adam refused to let anyone touch him? I was in the very front row, and all these people would reach out their hands imploringly as he would get super close. He would pretend like he was going to grasp some hands, only to jerk his hand back and smile and move somewhere else. It was fucking weird. I couldn't help but think it was a real dick move on his part. Especially considering bands like NFG and Senses Fail spend half their show leaning over into the crowd, handing the microphone to people. It was like Adam thought we were damned lepers or something.

There has been times he has been pulled off the stage, lost his shoes, had hair pulled out and in the early days wallet on a chain completely ripped. He use to get so much shite for handing the mic off, I can see him being more guarded now.

So what's the merch for TBS and Anberlin looking like?
Anberlin has all new shirts and hoodies (I think they're up on their website). I've never seen TBS before this tour so I don't know how much was new. I got a shirt that says "I test drove New Again" and it came with a code that you go online and enter it and then they mail you the CD/DVD of New Again. I'm wearing the shirt right now, actually.

Anberlin dropped Unwinding Cable Car tonight and played a cover song by New Order (i dont know the name)
also..Anberlin>>>>>>>>TBS
TBS just is NOT good anymore......their fans are awesome and loyal and were haning on every word, but I just felt like the band did NOT put on a good show. Adam sang about 60% of the lyrics....pretty sad if you ask me. I left about half way through their set.

Yeah... I would have preferred Unwinding Cable Car. But it was kind of interesting.
It was my first concert in Seattle and I wasn't a fan of the Showbox SoDo. The acoustics there were pretty crappy, especially for the vocals. And even though it didn't seem loud at the time, one of my ears is still ringing almost 36 hours later... and that never happens to me after a show. Then again, to be fair, I was right at the front right side by a crapload of speakers, but still. The ringing, if it even exists, normally goes away after an hour or less.
It was my first TBS and Anberlin show and I enjoyed it regardless, despite all my complaints. Maybe I just like to bitch about stuff. My friend said when he saw Anberlin two years back that they had no energy, but I really enjoyed their set on Friday.
And were we the only show where TBS took an audience request (and played Brooklyn)? Though I guess you can't answer that because you had left by then. And Adam climbing the metal support beams or whatever and hanging from the ceiling during MakeDamnSure was pretty awesome, though he sang next to nothing for the song because he was climbing and making sure he wouldn't fall.
Nevermind, according to the setlist in the original post, they played Brooklyn during the main set.

haha i just saw the youtube video of Adam hanging from the support beam...ridiculous.
Anberlin was great thankfully. The vocals were at least clear so I was glad about that, but yeah I do NOT like Showbox Sodo at all.

I've only heard good stuff about El Corazon, so I wish it had been there. But I'm sure I'll be back in Seattle for a show there at some point, since Vancouver doesn't get too many smaller bands. To me, the acoustics just don't compare to a venue at home like the Commodore (to be fair though, I've only been to one show there since almost every show, including the TBS/Anberlin/Envy Vancouver date, is 19+) where the sound is crystal clear.
Anberlin the vocals were slightly muffled for me at times, but it was better than it was for Envy on the Coast (who I thought were mediocre). Their lead singer looked like he was on drugs. But I can't help but like Sugar Skulls and the Gift of Paralysis, so it was decent. I wish they had played Mirrors though.

Ryan always looks crazed on stage. he basically becomes the music. i love his stage presence. and i always feel they do better in smaller venues b/c they feed off the crowd's vibes better with no barricade
