USC, OSU, PSU, Georgia ..ND doesnt have a shot in hell. They dont have the toughness to go hit for hit with OSU, and they'll be worn down by the 4th quarter. Not to mention, Tressel can call just as good of a game as Weis.

USC, OSU, PSU, Georgia... I almost want to say only the Rose bowl is worth watching, but what a game that will be. I knew the BCS would get it right once in 46457846543 years... here's to a playoff.

Notre Dame nearly beat USC (and allowed their lowest point total of the season) and OSU lost to Texas and penn state (and nearly to michigan). I think there is quite a valid argument that ND can beat OSU. Although ND lost to Michigan state. I just think the Irish will take this one.

this isn't that dumb of a comment. fsu upset virginia tech and looked pretty well doing it. fsu was thought to be a much better team going into this season than penn state.

There is no way West Virginia will win.

I think it's possible. West Virginia has been rolling all season long (granted its the Big East) and Georgia has shown plenty of weaknesses. Georgia is by no means a lock because they haven't played consistently each week - West Virginia could catch them on an off day.

ND's strengths played to USC's weakness though (pass defense). Ohio St is stacked defensively and has an efficient offense with one of the best playmakers in the NCAA (Ginn). Weis can call one hell of a game, but Tressel is just as good on the other side of the ball. Troy Smith would have to throw this game away for OSU to lose.

The CRAZY thing about football is that most good football teams tend to play against the weakness of the defense. To say Jesus Weis can't find enough chinks in Ohio States defense giving a month time is like saying Tom Cruise is straight.

I'm not saying Notre Dame is going to rack up 60 points on Ohio State but Weis will definitely put them in a very good position to win the ball game.

Ginn is an overrated crybaby who's afraid to get hit. He fell off the screen as soon as the season started. Every time they needed him to step up in a big game he choked.

so.... georgia was a consistent team, their two losses came in consecutive games, and shockley, their star, captain quarterback was out for one game and coming back from injury in another one. that team is very good, losses are not losses when your best player is out or injured.

Then why does everyone say Notre Dames overrated when they lost their #1 WR to Michigan and then lost their very good fullback to a DUI suspension by CW?

well, i'll start off by saying a #1 receiver and a good full back are not a senior captain starting quarterback

now next i will say it's arguable that rhema mcknight was not as good as stovall or samardzija

my third point is that i never called notre dame overrated, i like this team quite a bit

finally what is CW?

It is though, they were two very good players.

Rhema has lead the team in yard the past two seasons. Not saying he was a HUGE dent to their team when he got hurt but I could only imagine how much more productive they would have been with McKnight, Samardzija, and Stovall

Rashawn Powers-Neal was a bigger hurt, I believe. He was replaced with a freshman fullback Aschapp Swap. Really big kid, strongest guy on the team... he needed improvement though. The first play he got in was against Michigan State, to score a goal line touchdown that arguably would've won the game for ND.

He tried to stick the ball out and reach it in and they knocked it out of his hands and caused a fumble.

Another I believe when he missed a wide open pass from Quinn against USC. 20 yards of clear until the end zone. One would like to think if they scored that, they would've won that game too.

I'm not saying he was the reason for their two losses, I'm just saying that ND was a few skips and a hop from being undefeated..and might have been undefeated if they had RPN playing.

Last, I did'n't really mean that YOU called them overrated. I'm just saying there are a toooooooooooooooooon of people that think ND isn't even close to deserving a BCS bid.

word, i definatley think that they are deserving of a bcs bid, and i had mixed feelings about notre dame coming into this season. i've never been a fan frankly, but weis, quinn and samardzija made me a fan this year. i think notre dame has a far better chance of going undefeated next year, as i don't see samardzija or quinn leaving after this year.
