i never see any love for these outstanding artists, which is a shame, because in my mind they were not just one of the better modern folk acts, but perhaps (or at least had the potential to be) one of the best duos of the ages. carter's music & lyrics were renowned for their poetic imagery, mysticism, & exceptional storytelling ways, while always preserving such a strong rooted connection to folk/country music. i adore the way the pair always captured such grace & beauty with their lyrics, that was always matched with beautiful, yet subtle harmonies. although dave suffered such an untimely departure, tracy continues to release wonderful solo albums, often featuring many of dave's previously unrecorded songs
feel free to talk of the wonders that were this duo, or about them as solo acts. two artists who deserve a lot of attention & respect. any fans of modern or yesteryear folk need to check these guys out. unfortunately for new comers, finding songs to stream on the internet is tricky haha, but here's a taste of what i'm talking about (& there's also pretty much an entire live concert on youtube), enjoy!
