Be careful, reading lyrics for free, may soon become illegal (http://www.macnn.com/articles/05/12/06/pearlyrics.shut.down/&startNumber=10).

Yes, shut out all access to free art. Since art is all about money and not self-expression.

I'm sorry if that sounds melodramatic, but its truly where I stand.

Thats rediculous. I use a lyrics site to look up lyrics to cds I actually own because im too lazy to go get the cd book. And then you have those random bands that dont put lyrics in their CD books. I honestly wonder why these people are getting paid. Their jobs are nothing more than "see how much you can piss off the general public" jobs.

I'm writing a letter to my congressmen/women once finals finish and I'm going to make a big fucking fuss about it. The need to enact consumer protection before these overaggressive labels ruin the industry they're trying to save.

HAHAHA

I think the posting of lyrics on websites should be the artist's decision or not. I don't see the big deal of it anyway.

Me too, I don't believe some of the things they are trying to do now. Just because there are ways around making these assholes filthy rich, they are doing every F'd up thing to see that doesn't happen. Just shows how greedy people are.

the last comment on the website is absolutely ridiculous....maybe if major labels didnt feed us shitty music, they wouldnt have to worry about hiding shitty lyrics. That person is a moron.

tommyhaych
12/08/05, 03:04 PM
WHAT THE FUCK... (scuse the caps). In my eyes, songs are split into two halves - the music and the lyrics. And like someone said before, it's all about free expression. I like hearing about a song someone's raved about but I haven't heard yet and searching it on a lyric site and seeing what makes the song (i.e, Jimmy Eat World, Something Corporate).

Honestly, what monkey thought the idea up that lyrics were a part of the whole filesharing nonesense? Do they think someones gonna build their own song from someone else's lyrics?

Man I hate this whole music industry thing now.

Kelley Nicole
12/08/05, 03:07 PM
that's fucking stupid, especially since some bands don't even include lyrics with their cds.

Maybe they should just tell their artists to stop putting lyrics in their songs. Therefore, no lyrics, no websites with their lyrics.

yeah, most bands don't have the complete and/or accurate lyrics to their songs in the cd (by accurate i mean, say, taking back sunday) and some don't have them at all and seriously, annuciation doesn't seem to be a skill of a lot of singers nowadays....

Yeah, my sister lives in Milwaukee and can get a paper copy all over the place. I guess it's based in Wisconsin or something and if you live close enough they do that. Sucks for us west coasters.
