The Make Believe is a five-piece rock band hailing from Orange County, California. Comprised of two females and three males, Liz Perez, Brooke Hernandez, Johnny Barthelmass, Jonathan Vangalapudi, and Joshua John West expertly combine rhythmic, melodic vocal styling with a musical blend of beautiful intricacy and the power of driving distortion; thus, creating a captivating array of musical arrangements. Beyond the imaginative instrumentation lays the lyrical content; which delves into many aspects of life, including explorations of love and loss. With hints of sarcasm and sardonic undertones that reach into the past while grasping a knowing present and calling out to a hopeful future the listener is drawn in by the storytelling sent forth via the vocal prowess of Liz and Johnny’s duality.
With the February 2009 release of The Make Believe’s debut full band, 7 song e.p. entitled “is”, the band is poised to impact all who lend their ears to the music.
