The Postal Service, The Cure, and others have all covered John Lennon songs that will be up for download (http://www.amnesty.org/noise/) (for $.99) tomorrow. All benefits will go to Amnesty International. The Postal Service contribute "Grow Old With Me", Snow Patrol take on "Isolation", and the Cure have a crack at "Love".

this sounds good
in all reality, i could really care less what postal service covers. as long as they are doing something. its a big plus that they are covering something cool though.

I love seeing my old favorites (ex:Morrissey, The Cure) getting back into the news. I'm so glad to hear that all of them are making more and more music.
And hey, The Postal Service. Who doesn't like them?

the website says Avril Lavigne and the Black Eyed Peas are doing songs as well, unless I misread that- this may not be as great as one would hope...

Sweet. Glad to hear The Postal Service cover John Lennon, as well as Snow Patrol and The Cure. Now all it needs to be complete is for Armor For Sleep, Cartel, The Fold, The Bled, Converge, and John Legend to cover some John Lennon tracks.

Yeah this hit me as a surprise when I first saw it the other day. I had no idea The Postal Service were up to anything at all. I was pleasantly suprised.

I thought it was a rule not to cover Beatles/Lennon/Mcartney etc. songs?

I purchased them all. I think they're all pretty awesome. It's sort of heard hearing The Cure go all psychodelic like, but it will keep me satisfied until the next album.

who in their right mind would every download a windows media audio file (much less pay for one).
if you click on the non-united states store link, you can buy it and download it as wma, aac (m4a), and mp3. you pay .77 pounds, but don't be fooled. that's actually USD 46.23
