It's Friday, so that means we will re-cap some important events in AP.net land over the past week.
Website Improvements
First off, the user profiles have undergone a face lift. I went for a much cleaner, and user friendly look. I think they're a big step up. Next up to finish is the artist's section (which is just about complete), you can catch a sneak-peak at the beta version right here (http://www.absolutepunk.net/artists/browselinks.php?c=2). I also added a Holiday theme to the website, so make sure you check that out to get in the seasonal spirit. Last but not least, I improved our news-archive system to a much more user friendly version. No more excuses for missing any of our old news posts!
Contests
Tooth & Nail Presents (http://www.absolutepunk.net/artists/browselinks.php?c=2) - Win a T&N mega prize pack.
Vagrant Contest (http://www.vagrant.com/absolutepunkcontest/) - Win a prize pack from Moneen and AlexisonFire.
111 Records (http://www.eastwestrock.com/111contest/) - Win an iPod shuffle for the Rocktopus tour.
Yellowcard Contest (http://yellowcardrock.com/contests_absolutepunk.asp) - Win an iPod nano.
Featured Downloads
We had two new featured downloads this past week: Ericson (http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=100045) and Face to Glass (http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=100285). Check out all of our featured downloads right here (http://www.absolutepunk.net/forumdisplay.php?f=158).
Next Week
Next week should be a big week for AP as we finalize our artist section and work on touching up all the small-end details around the website. Look for small features to add enhancements as we work on perfecting the website for 2006. We will also be posting our 2005 Christmas Song list to get everyone creating their holiday mix-tapes.
AP.net Hint
You theoretically never have to reload AP.net if you don't want to. If you've browsed the news archive (clicked next to read past articles), clicking previous will bring you back to the first page of news. Clicking it again will check for new articles and display them without ever refreshing the page.
Hope everyone had a good week. If you have any extra time please tell some friends (http://www.absolutepunk.net/index.php?sub=invite) about us.
