The Mile After (http://www.themileafter.com) have posted two old songs off their unreleased demo on their pureVOLUME (http://www.purevolume.com/themileafter) page; the songs are "So Young, So Sick" and "Dear Page." The band is currently writing/demoing new songs for their debut full-length on Rushmore Records.

they have three incredible singers who could each easily front their own bands. their harmonies are unlike anything else in this scene. be prepared for a takeover.

We started out in Wilmington b/c we all met at UNCW; But we lived in Charlotte before that and have moved back here to write/demo for our record.

I don't know if you are from NC but you are dead right. The music scene is a black hole here. At least Raliegh gets more notice than Charlotte. There are so many good bands around here, anyone from the NC area will probably agree. Pretty much everyone in NC has heard of The Verdict, but they generate so little buzz w/ the industry. So if any NC homies are reading this, express your love for this band on this thread. give them a little love.

I didn't mean to disregard The Mile After though, great band and they deserve all the credit and fame that is coming their way. Way to go boys.

I kinda like the music scene here. Maybe you're referring to a different aspect than I'm thinking. But our music scene here seems to rock. I've seen shows where great national tours come through and the crowds there to see the local band on the bill. And I know our local scene supports the hell out of TMA. I cant wait to see those guys again in January. And I know it'll be a packed house. Full of frat boys moshing. TMA is the only band I know that can create that.

The NC music scene is pretty great. Look at all the bands who have gotten signed or who are close to signing - The Mile After, Sullivan, Farewell, Scarlet Undercover (I really hope so). Not to mentioned the unsigned locals who can hold their own as well. North Carolina is a good place to be for music at the moment.

I said that already fool. Are you going to the wed night at the Brewery? And you forgot the local lables with all the local bands on it. Tragic Hero for example.

Wish I could. My band is playing on the 19th with Annuals and Roar Dynosaur! though. You should come and we could have an AP.net meetup party.

the nc music scene is not horrible on a whole, there are def horrible parts of it though. esp wilmington. i went to a show last night and there were like 4 fights in the pit. first of all there shouldn't have really been a hardcore dancing pit for just surrender or june, but for some reason there was. a bunch of high school freshman and probably a few middle schoolers, who i saw dropped off by their parents, trying to run the pit and fight anyone who tried to dance or push mosh anywhere near. it pissed me off and made me realize why the wilmington music scene is so dead. TMA did well to get out of here, they can barely sell a show out here.

lucky's. and i respect that guy for trying to bring back the music scene back to life here. and it was great for him to get a show here for us. but when kids sit during june, the head liner of the tour brought in, and when i say sit, i don't mean like on the side, i mean right in front of the stage, thats just disrespectful, and i know why bands don't even want to play here.

I agree. Maybe living in Raleigh and surrounding areas we're spoiled or something. Our scene seems fine.
