It's a nice gesture and all but they're just trying to win a public relations campaign while the find another illegal way to "prevent downloading". Other labels are still doing the same thing and I'm still writing a letter to a few congressmen. It's only a matter of time before they come up with another absurd way of handling this situation.

They just need to give it up all together. They can't stop it.

They should just start sending interns to sit and watch us all at home.

Yeah, they already broke the law, so this doesn't even matter. If I kill someone and then a month later say, "oh, I'm sorry, my actions were out of line", I don't get cut any slack, and neither should Sony in this scenario.

heres a thought. y cant they TEST the CD's throughly before distributing thousands to unexpecting customers. or at least put a warning lable that reads: "this cd may cause your computer to crash and send sony records all your private information"

But not all people who purchase cds are. The fact that Sony is penalizing all who purchase a cd because some people might download music is absurd. Not to mention the fact that they lied, denying the software was spyware, as well as the fact that they broke the law in nearly 20 states.

I've had to deal with their crapware as I like to call it for the past few week. What sucks about their crapware that their putting on your computer without you knowing. The "spyware" embeds its self unlike any other spyware. Its called a rootkit and it puts its self in your kernal of your operating system and most anti-spyware programs (spybot, pest patrol, adaware, etc) dont detect and delete it.
