they seem like they try very very hard. I watched that big in 05 thing they played and every other second they were spinning or throwing their guitars around. I guess its better than them standing still but they come off as trying way to hard

then i guess they've been trying too hard for as long as they've been playing together...tv or not.

i saw this, and was pretty disappointed. it was something about how the song sounded to me, it just sounded off.

Patrick looks like he was struggling. Perhaps they should get another guitar player and have him focus on vocals?
i don't know, i think their tv performances are steadily improving. keep in mind they're still pretty new at this.
he shouldn't have cut his hair.
Seriously, what are you even doing in this forum?
I think you are mistaking this for the Teen People chatroom. Fuck off.

agreed, all he did through was just scream at a random point in the song.

The first time I saw Fall Out Boy live (last year with Blink) I was willing to give them a second chance until Peter just starting screaming in the middle of every song.
No thanks.

pete's company clandestine industries makes it
haha yesterday during FOB's performance at Kroqs almost acoustic christmas Pete had a mic and was up infront of the crowd just screaming during Saturday, I guess he has no bass part in that song. And also what is up with him doing all the talking between songs? It makes Patrick seem kind of conceeded.

They tore shit up on the Big in 05 award last weekend. Probably one of the better performances by a pop punk band i've seen on TV.

A lot of the times, they dont' have a choice....Just like Thursday hated playing on TV but there was a demand for them and their label wanted them to. Playing on TV really isn't up to them.

Probably because that was the first song that Fall Out Boy ever decided to put "screaming" in and it's Pete's part.

Note to idobi: ripping from an hdtv source and re-encoding at a low bitrate does not equal hdtv/hi-def. Post a real divx stream or the .ts if you want to label it hdtv.
ok, but what's the HFTV? i see everybody seems to know, but me :)

fall out boy is terrible live.

I know what you're talking about. You know what you're talking about. But it's easier than saying 16:9... which would have me answering even more questions.
Someone else can decide what to call things. In the meantime, i'll make my life easier by only ignoring the technically literate. (btw. divx isn't hdtv either - and if you want to pay my bandwidth cost, i'll post the .ts files)
But since I'm here.
HDTV = High Definition Television
HDTV streams are MPEG2 encoded streams you can capture into .ts files.
DivX, 3ivx, iPod video, and sony PSP video are MPEG4 files.
Can I buy Pete's entire outfit yet?

I love Pete's lyrics.
It's just a shame that no one can really make them out when Patrick sings them live
But I think they are getting better at the whole performing-on-tv thing. This is better than the others they've done

This is the last thing that I would put on my iPod video.
iPod videos are MPEG2, not MPEG4
iPod videos (and Sony PSP) are H.264, which is MPEG4. (MPEG-4 Part 10 if you want to get technical).
MPEG2 is H.262.
This is why I don't post...

Thanks for responding. I didn't mean any ill will, thanks for putting a high volume of videos online for downloading. I get what you mean about just labeling them something simple (lord knows this thread has illustrated your point about the questions...lol). Though it would be sweet if you could get the bandwidth for actual high def...;)

Pete always tosses his bass off at the end of Saturday. Someone catches it and plays the bass parts so he can get out in the crowd. This is nothing new. Neither is Pete doing most of the talking on stage. He's just more outspoken than the others. Patrick is shy (you couldn't even see half his face hiding underneath that hat!) and the farthest thing from conceited.

thats the best i have ever heard patrick sound live.... alot of the times he misses words and crap and just sounds like shit... maybe that because of the high altitude when i saw them live...

This was a good performance. For a pop-punk band with really fast-paced music, the sound quality is decent so you'd be able to hear big slip ups in the lead. And I didn't hear any. Pete screams. Live with it. This song is catchy. This performance was good. I wish people would just shut up if they don't like this band.

I agree. Patrick didn't seem as nervous. This is probably their best tv performace I've seen. It seemed really put together like they worked really hard on it.......they seemed a little out of it though, like they were really tired or something
