How do you choose what music to listen to next?

I usually put the iPod on shuffle until I hear something I'm in the mood for.

I used to just put my iPod on shuffle but I have so much stuff on there that I'm not really into anymore that now I either make an on the go playlist or pick an album.

playlists, usually. sometimes i know what i specifically want, and if i can't pin that down to a playlist or band/album, it's shuffle time.

I'm either really ADD (and I use shuffle) or the exact opposite (where I pick out full albums and won't listen to anything else until it's done).

usually shuffle. in my car i use cd's yet kuz im cool like that. i usually keep a cd in my car player for a week or 2 and then switch it out for something different.

If I get a new album and I like it I will listen to that one album on rotation for awhile. Otherwise I just put on whatever I'm feeling.

I have a specific "To Listen To" playlist which I drop all new albums and stuff I downloaded. Whenever I sit down at my computer to work or whatever, I go through that playlist, delete whatever I don't like, and file away the rest. It does ensure I give some albums the time of day, and I like having it organized that way. However, that playlist does now contain 5,211 songs, so I have some listening to do haha. When I am out and I have my iPod, I either pick a specific album/band to listen to. Rarely do I put it on shuffle.
