Thinking about getting one for christmas. I just got a 20gb 4th gen last christmas though.

not worth it 4 the video, worth it for all the other features...bigger screen, color, more options, etc.

i like mine. videos arent bad. i have wondershowzen and south park on mine plus 35gb of music

They just inked a deal with NBC, I know that...Conan will soon be downloadable the day after the show airs, plus other NBC shows like My Name Is Earl, The Office, Scrubs, etc.

Is the video worth it?
If you fill it with songs, you can get 200-250 for your old iPod on eBay (that's what I did), it really cuts down on the cost of the new iPod.

It's pretty, I'd want it more for the extra space and the color screen, but I wouldnt necessarily say it was worth it, unless you can sell your old one for a decent amount

It's mos def worth it, I don't use the video as much as I thought I would but if I start downloading the t.v. shows off iTunes I might use the videos more. But I love the bigger screen and the color cause I went from a 3rd generation iPod to this so it was a very good improvement

Def, I have Aeon flux, some Chappelee, seinfeld office space star wars ep 3 and sin city one mine. Plus room for another 45-50 gigs of music. Only 18 r takin up by music tho. SO I have like 30 gigs left on it.

Yeah....thats right on basically.

I mean the video thing is cool, but really who's gonna watch a whole movie on it? I can't.

I've had it for a few weeks now and I don't really use the video feature at all. I don't really need it. But everything else about it is awesome.

I'm actually in the exact same situation. I can't decide whether I should just stick with my 20gb or not..

Every standard ipod is a video now I think. They don't make mini's anymore. Only Nano's and regualrs. I think I' getting a 30g for Christmas.

The video option, however, is awesome. I have the entire first season of Lost on it and I watch it before i got to bed. I've also downloaded episodes of shows that I've missed and watch those on the way to work or on my break.

i'm not an ipod person, but it seems pretty soon to be trading up when it's a rather expensive item.
unless you feel you're really going to get heavy use out of the video feature, why not wait a year?

i'm thinking of getting a case for a friend, & these (http://www.iskin.com/) seem like they could be good.
