Does this mean we can look forward to Academy Is shows being ruined by "OMG WILLIAM BECKET IS SO HOTT" fat little girls?
I went to the MCR show last night. It was horrible. Completely ruined by the crowd.

i can't say much about saying the singer is hot since i'm a straight guy....but I remember going to shows when I was 15 and 16 and feeling accepted. These days it seems if there are little kids in the audience they always ruin everything. I don't think this is always the case. I think a lot of us "older" kids...and hell i'm only 19....haha....were these little kids a while ago going to shows and seeing bands that we like...before we knew what scene was or that it sometimes wasn't cool to know everyword and wanna move around a lot. You probably don't mean any of this...but it's just something I wanted to say. Perhaps we should all give these kids a break, I was glad people gave me a break when I was a kid like that.
Good luck on finals if you're in college everyone.

OMG these guys are like so DIY and they are so indie... no they didn't originally sign to atlantic and have atlantic put out their record on fueled by ramen(which atlantic owns apart of) to gain street cred. before they hit the trl masses. I really didn't see this coming at all!!!!

they're planning something big! planning something big!
well they were in the last issue of AP, on the "most anticipated releases of 06" list.

Yeah I saw that...
Brand New was in the 05 list. So was The Early November. So you could understand why I am being a bit skeptical.

Oh yeah, I definitely do. No one can say for sure the record will come out in '06, but if not, I'd guess it would be out in early '07. I know they have a ton of songs written and will have some time off after the XBox tour to work on them.

I partially agree with you, however, they are annoying. If i have to hear another 250 lbs 16 year old girl screech in my ear about the lead singer being so hot, I'm going to kick them in the throat.
Even when i did go to shows when I was 15 or 16 I wasn't anything like the kids that go now-a-days. Maybe that's me just being biased.

i think you are biased. regardless, this is how it goes. you roll with the punches. when your favorite band's shows become overrun with pre-pubescent teens, you either suck it up and stand by them or you move on to the band that will eventually be the next big thing.
lather. rinse. repeat.

Its true though. When I was 15-16 is when I started to really see all my favorite bands. I went to shows for the opportunity to see the bands play the show. Not because it was cool to listen to them or because the lead singer was SoOoOO HAWT!! Kids these days are bringing back the annoying teenie bopper boy band days but just putting it in a genre of music that I like. Even this years Warped Tour sucked simply because of the kids there for Hawthorne Heights, Fall Out Boy, and My Chemical Romance. Before you would go to a show, move around, jump, pit, whatever, but everyone seemed united. Pick you up when you fell, made a circle around you when you needed to tie your shoe, etc. Now you go to a show and you either get the annoying little kids or the asshole who has never been to a show before that throws his fists around because he is a tough mosh guy, or the retarded girl with make up, sandals, and a skirt. Its a show, not a dance. If I go to a show, I find the most attractive girls to be in jeans, a t shirt, hair up, etc. simply because they are not retarded.
Wow. What a rant. I am done. I promise.

i just really think people no matter what the age should try to like the music for what it is not what who looks like. that is dumb. period. i have seen these guys since thier first show at the k.o.c. and they deserve to go where they want-they are hard workers and nice. but i just wish that didnt mean simutaneously be surrounded by lil kids talking about looks. i dunno maybe its just me and i dont really know what to say bout all this "selling out" "screaming girl" stuff but i guess i just wish people could stay intimite with some of these good bands. but cheers for them i guess as well as all the other bands that have made it.

yes, the best part was that people were united. Everyone seemed on the same side. I saw the blood brothers recently with Co&Ca and it was just a mess. There were people there just to hurt people...they would grab kids who were running around and just throw them. It was somewhat of a mess....because a lot of the Co&Ca kids up in the front had no idea what the blood brothers were all about and flipped out once the started playing because it got so crazy.
That was magical though...going to those shows when I was younger....my first one was less then jake...i snuck to lawrence with kids i had met in marching band and hot water music opened...people were dancing and moshing and I was like....wow this is wonderful...everyone is together and happy and having a good time.

Yeah. People are so divided at shows now its ridiculous. Before 2005 I never got into a fight at a show. This year I was thrown out of one venue and have been in 4 or 5 fights. And I never started any of them. It was just a kid acting like a fucking asshole and pissing people off so I call him out on it and he takes a swing. The whole situation is just sad.

kids just ruin shows now. I stick to local bands/shows for the most part because of that fact.
Although, as a big guy, most kids just kind of back down.

I agree. When I was 15, I wasn't the type to be screaming about how hot the band was. I'm 19 now and I also feel like I'm "old". At least, the oldest one there.

This is exactly what I mean. This is the way a show should be. One thing that is so amazing about this genre of music IS the unity of its fans. You can even break a crowd down into sections. Theres the people up front getting smashed against the rail, theres the moshers, theres the people around the moshers keeping them in, and theres the people away from the moshers watching the show. All of this stuff is expected by all and accepted by all. You got to MCR (My example as I just experienced it) and you move at all in the damn crowd you either get a "aaahhhh stop it" from a whiny little girl, a "watch it buddy" from an over-protective boyfriend, a gang of parents terrified that their child will get hit or the asshole that has never been to a show before and is clearly not listening to the music and either A) trying to hurt someone or B) mosh and push around at the slowest possible moment, and even between songs. We tried for about 3 songs into MCR's set to enjoy the songs from within the crowd, tried to mosh, and after it failed miserably we all got out of the crowd and just waited for the show to end.
And, to connect this with the topic, I sure hope TAI shows NEVER turn in to this because I loved TAI before I saw them live and love them more after. William is VERY nice and has an great stage presence.
