i would bet this makes around 12 mil this weekend, it could make more but with earth, fighting, and the soloist coming out i think it may have a hard time.

im about to go to a screening of this so ill report back how it is

so the movie was a bit better than expected. i couldnt really tell going into it what demographic they were pulling for (whether it was the male, female, black or white crowd, etc) but after seeing it i would lean more towards the african american market as they seemed to be enjoying it the most. i thought beyonce's acting was better than any of her past roles, though it just may be that she wasnt as much of a star in this movie as she was a supporting actress to the main charecter (idris elba) and ali larter. in terms of the gender crowd i think both guys and girl could get into this movie as it had a nice love story for the girls but wasn't so bland as a lot of other chick flicks are and also had plenty of climatic/intense parts that the guys could get in to. also, there were a couple of weird spots in the film trying to show how crazy larter was but the audience ended up laughing at viewing it as a comedic element instead of dramatic which took away from the story, but could easily be interpereted differently in other markets. overall i give this movie a c+, above average but nothing great or genre defining.


p.s. unfortunatly beyonce and larter stayed clothed throughout the film, with larter being the only to bare her underwear
