This has got me even more excited for AAA.

Tom is a genius and he's so passionate and he's doing. With Angels And Airwaves he's doing it. He's doing what he wants, his way, and that is something that all of Blink's and Boxcar's fans can get behind. The trailer is awesome and what I heard of the song at the end is super cool. But the music can't be judged until it's released, everything else is going to be hit and miss at best.

Listening to the boxcar cd now is embarrassing. It's terrible. Even the earliest blink (well, Buddha, not flyswater) has staying power; boxcar racer absolutely does not. These clips remind me more of the direction blink was moving forward with with self titled than the boxcar racer album. It's too early to say whether this will be as great as Tom claims, but it seems like it at least has enough potential to pick up from where blink left off.

the whole video had a very unexpected feel to me. the first part had me wondering when they were going to stop zooming in and out on each member's face. it was kind of like something a boy band would have done a few years ago. *zoom in* "okay, now give me the sincere face!" *zoom out* "now tilt your head down, and look tough!" *zoom in w/ blur* "okay now go for sad!" then they follow that up with a rock 'n' roll band sitting around sipping wine at a table with a "Chanel" book and a "Giorgio Armani" book? all i'm saying is that it was a little unexpected. i actually laughed a little bit.

this is just an opinion, which we all have. i'm not attacking the band or anyone that thinks they will be their new favorite. they may very well be the next biggest thing in rock history, who knows! afterall, if you look back on some of the things that the beatles, pink floyd, elvis, etc. put on video to promote themselves you never would have imagined they would change the face of music like they did.

I don't really know what to think about it.. I mean, I really was destined not to prefer any of the two bands and although I actually don't and although I love the plus 44 song and although I certainly don't like how cocky and arrogant Tom seems to be in the video and how they drink wine out of these weird futuristic glasses.. when I saw the 2 videos it was like "wow.." I can't really describe, but as much as I try to not be crazy about the band, I kinda loved it anyway in the end.. if i don't hear a full song soon. i am going to freakin' explode. i mean it is rediculous. watching the video and trailer were cool, but that little piece at the end of the video where we hear tom singing just kills me. I NEED TO HEAR A SONG FROM THIS BAND. when i read all of the self proclaimed hype from tom about them, i was kinda sceptical, but this makes me so freakin' excited! but i need to hear a song or i will be a dead man soon.

So...what do you all think? which one has the upper hand? We've all heard at least something from both Plus 44 and AVA, whats the consensus?

interesting point of topic to me is drums, does anybody else think that 'No it isn't' has kind of a subpar ending? it feels too sluggish to me, Travis seems to really stick to those off beats these days. That fill for the song in the AVA trailer though...kind of epic yeah?

Exactly what I was thinking. It's such a standard punk beat. I didn't even felt like it fit, I preferred the slower beat. Loved all of the song up to that though. Loving everything from AvA too.

I think this Album is going to automatically sell like Carmen Electras wet underwear when it comes on the shelves just because they've spent so much bling on this.

But in the end... I know I'm gonna listen to it a few times and come to the conclusion that "ok that was alright" and the CD is gonna lay around at the bottom of my car somewhere in a pile of term papers and jackets.

yea i think the whole idea of them hyping themselves to be the secondcoming of christ is kind of ridiculous.....its not supposed to be like that. i know no one on this site likes The Strokes, but thats how hype should be, dont hype your fucking selves. And the Strokes were so cool about it, they pretty much gave the finger to the critics and MTV and said we will make the fucking music we want to make......and look now, MTV is at their heels playing a god damn strokes song at least 5 times per show (in the background). I dare you to watch "Next" or "Real World" or "Made" or any of those fucking shows and if you dont hear a Strokes song at least once then you onviously arent listening. and The Strokes should have been the revival of Rock N' Roll but some fucking idiots turned their back on them, becasue its not cool to like stuff that is popular anymore, and that is exactly why there will never be a rock n roll revolution, becaseu soon as a band gets to a huge status, everyone turns their back on them. The Strokes were shoved right in our faces and people turned thier backs.......one of my favorite bands of all time. go ahead cut it down if you want..

I think the "self" hype is fucking lame.

Um...I do enjoy the Strokes from time to time and just because people on this site or the people into the so called "underground" music do not listen to them, they are merely a tiny portion of people who listen to music. TRL(and the bands/artists on it) is pretty damn popular if you ask me, but yet everyday it goes on and I'm sure millions of people watch it. In fact, I think a majority of the population eat up what is played on the radio and MTV, i.e. popular music.
