Wow a guitar pick. I think I will just order from Interpunk and get my stuff on time and for a lower price!!! Smartpunk should probably think less about guitar picks and more about getting real punk rock on their site.

That's the problem I have with Interpunk...smartpunk always gets me my stuff on time, while if you pre-order off of Interpunk, you wait a week after the cd somes out to get it. I won't argue with the second half of your comment though...

i wont lie. smartpunk has a fucked up selection of cds. like i order off of there b/c its pretty cheap but like its always missing cds that seem really obvious to have. still, im pretty sure im getting some cds from smartpunk for xmas, so i might get some picks to smash apart on my bass. thats always fun.
P.S. interpunk has a nicer selection but its shipping prices are muy ridiculoso is you just want like one cd... i prefer newb coms over anything tho. hooray for living in the northeast.

I prefer smartpunk over interpunk for the fact that they dont carry what use to be known as punk. They only carry the good new school punk. Yes it might not sound anything like punk use to be but its much better to listen to anyday of the week. My order was shipped today so hopefully I get the pics, if I dont like them I can always sell them on ebay.

Yeah the new release thing sucks. But I think it has changed. I got the new ALK3 cd on time. And they always have free stuff to give it away with stuff. Smartpunk is plain and simple a rip off of Interpunk.

damn, quite the observation.
It's business.

It is business. And that is fine. It is just obvious that it is ripoff. Except one actually sells punk rock and the other just floats around it the mainstream. What happens when people don't want "Taking back Thursdays dieing ember in the Shadow of my bad haircuts" CDs? People who really like real punk can only go one place. That is all. But wow what a great topic of conversation.

Funny, I don't recall an Interpunk stage on that Warped Tour all you kids bought tickets to.

To be honest, we are fans of all types of "punk" and our "punk roots" go way deeper than most would ever guess. As far as SP being a ripoff of any other company, that is like saying Target is a ripoff of K-mart... or even closer to the subject ...that Virgin is a ripoff of Tower. Its called Competition. Some may like one some may like the other. Regardless of our personal tastes, what Smartpunk features (on the site and through our other efforts) is not only a reflection of what we're listening to, it is also a direct representation of what our customers support. We also try hard to give alot of new and up-coming artists as much exposure as possible to show our support of change, innovation and pregression within the genre. We offer the "classics" and the "big stuff" but I have to be honest but SP and it customers have a strong loyalty to bands that are "in the here and now", hashing it out on the road, paying thier dues.
Im not looking to alienate anyone here but I find it strange that somone here is knocking on a site (SP) that champions so many bands that are greatly supported by this site (AP.net). I also notice that every post this someone has made has only been done to discredit SP. What are you really contributing here?
SP is greatly committed to serving its customers. Your opinion on our quality of selection and service is important to us. If you don't see what you are looking for on the SP, please write us or give us a call and let us know what you are looking for. If we dont already have it, we'll get it.

honestly? i like both Smartpunk and Interpunk haha. who cares if the other doesnt have much old school punk, it's just a site that sells stuff, and sure, i order mostly from interpunk, but if i see a cd i want on smartpunk a bit cheaper than on interpunk, surely i'd order it from smartpunk. it's no use boycotting a merch site just because the other is more "cool". common sense is always great.
i kinda want the anberlin pick...do they give out all 3 or like 1 of them? if one then can you choose? i dont want the HH one... TSL is fine but i dont like that HipHop-ish logo... eh.

bottom line..you can buy every bright eyes cd off of smartpunk, along with tons of polyvinyl bands. therefore interpunk > smartpunk. however, both deserve their respective props.
