well, i know this isn't today's standard of "indie" but if you are looking for some good new slow style, new music, really look into checking out Bob Dylan's new album, together through life. It has fantastic elements of so many different styles of music. It's really an instant classic. Check it out here - http://beyondhereliesnothin.com/

Some of his songs might count as slow, but Kevin Devine is great :) I've heard all but one of his cds but I imagine it's great because everything else is great. Also, Butch Walker absolutely worth checking out! Again, some of his songs are slow but he's just simply amazing :)

I like you, you're a funny dude.
Anyway, I second the American Football and Mineral recs. The Appleseed Cast, too.
Bon Iver, if nobody beat me to it.
