Ok, im not sure what im doing wrong. I got an adapter so i can plug my guitar into my computer. I got a cable going from my guitar to my amp, then coming out of the headphones port going into the computer. I got it in the jack that has a little mic next to it. Im assuming its the right one. In audacity i have it set to line in, and when i hit record, nothing shows up. Its just a flat line. Does anyone know what my problem is?

You have to make sure your input settings are correct, but I don't remember how. I'll try to figure it out.

The jack with the little mic next to it is usually called "mic in" or something like that, not line in. Try setting Audacity to record from mic in, or plug the amp into the line in jack if you have one. It'd probably sound better going through the line in instead of the mic in anyway.
