The Casual Lean (http://www.myspace.com/thecasuallean) has decided to release their debut album, Swears, without label support, and they need your help! They have set a goal of 300 copies to reach over the next couple months in order to have the record out sometime in February or March. The sooner they sell 300 copies, the sooner the record will be pressed and shipped. This is a bold move on their part and all help is greatly appreciated. The cost is $10.00 per CD and $2.00 if shipping and handling is necessary.

The record will contain 10 tracks recorded by Kurt Ballou at Godcity Studio and will feature artwork by the VisualKoncepts (http://www.visualkoncepts.com) team. They are the ones responsible for artwork for such bands as: Coldplay, Midtown, Panic! At The Disco, Gatsbys American Dream and more.

The decision to release the album on their own was reached due to many factors. The major factor being that they are itching to begin working on new material. They are finalizing a couple new demos at the moment and want to jump into some new songs. They love this album and are very proud of it; however, it just needs to be released so they can beat those songs behind them and begin working on new materials. That's not to say they won't be playing them live anymore; they plan to begin touring in support of the record sometime in 2006. They just need to be able to get this record off their chests, and there are loads of fans that have been patiently awaiting the release of if it, so it's about time they get it.

After the first 300 are sold, they are unsure whether they will shop the release, look into a distro deal, or just focus on the new demos and get a label involved for the next record and continue to press Swears themselves. The first 300 pre-ordered will be hand numbered as well.

The band wants to thank you in advance. Go here (www.myspace.com/thecasuallean) to pre-order, or if you know one of the guys in the band, just give them $10.00 and they'll give you kiss.

Note: LISTEN TO THIS BAND!

this is pretty gutsy, but if they are in with their hometown crowd that should be no problem. they could play a few shows and just ask for preorders there. i sold over 900 copies of my first cd myself around my home area. of course it's a lot different when the cd isn't actually made yet, so it will be a lot tougher, but i think it can be done. good luck.
