This song was AMAZING tonight, this and You Vandal were def my highlights.
When they played this song I was blown away by how absurdly fucking sick it was. This song is so nasty it should be illegal. The rest/beginning was ridiculous as well.

It's interesting... I was listening to "From Under the Cork Tree" (about half way through it) and then I stopped to check out this video. It literally sounds like Fall Out Boy with a different singer. And that's not a bad thing at all. My anticipation level for this just went up another notch.

i always thought fob was just a sped up saves the day. so many of fob's choruses sound like "sell my old clothes, i'm off to heaven" except faster.

anyway, this sounds pretty good.these songs are even faster than through being cool. sweet.

Wow....how badass was that song? I love these guys to death and it sounds like the new cd is gonna be just what everyone has been waiting for.

P.S. Yellowcard "Lights and Sounds" debuted at number #7 here in MTV Japan on the Top 30 On-Air Charts. Is it really that good of a song?

Thank you I was just going to say that. Fall Out Boy will never be Saves the Day, and to the ones who thought it sounded like FOB with a different singer you need to be able to discern music cause they are two totally different sounds. For example:

Saves the Day - Good

FOB - horrible

and it will always be that way.

That being said when I saw STD a month ago it was incredible. I got so excited when I heard their two new songs. The new stuff sounds nothing like In Reverie and much like old STD. There is a God.

saves the day = ever evolving, dynamic, lyrically phenomenal, musically diverse, intricate, energetic, beautifully crafted rock band that have delivered several amazing, genre defying albums that have inspired a generation of musicians and songwriters.

ACTUALLY, if you have to make such a comparison, it's more like Fall Out Boy sounds like Saves the Day with a different singer. Let's not get confused...this is not a chicken and egg situation. One came before the other.

And this song is brilliant. This album is pretty much one of the most anticipated in quite a few years.

perfection.

saves the day has been my favorite band for over five years, and though i consider myself a fall out boy fan, it's disgraceful that a comparison between the two is trying to be crafted. they're just on two different planes. fall out boy wouldn't exist (at least in the current form) without saves the day. i just think it sucks that bands like fall out boy have overshadowed the pure amazingness that is saves the day.

saves the day, up until recently, seems like the band that the scene forgot. "in reverie" was a disappointment to many, but i think "sound the alarm" will bring back all of the kids that previously lost hope in them. it's going to be amazing, i can feel it.

as i said, i am a fall out boy fan...but i don't think they have nearly as much integrity as saves the day does. saves the day doesn't need a clothing line/scene empire and eye makeup to make kids stick with them. they've changed the lives of many simply through making amazingly passionate music that flows through the veins of their followers. they have nothing to prove, and that alone has proven them.

and, tonight in jersey and tomorrow in brooklyn will be my 6th and 7th shows on this tour. and tomorrow in brooklyn will be my 30th time seeing saves the day. this love will never, ever die.

if you are going to compare fall out boy to saves the day i have just one reminder. When Patrick Stump and Pete Wentz (antichrist) met they spent the day playing through the entire album "through being cool". just food for thought. And one more thing when saves the day put out their first album Dan Trapp the drummer of Senses Fail was in id say around 7th grade. Why then do they close the shows on this tour? good one.

Age is hardly relevant. STD undoubtedly headlined shows with far older, more experienced support in their early days (since they got successful so young).

Can't wait for this album though, just thinking about it makes me feel all fuzzy inside.

its about setting the stage for every one of the bands that have "made it" in the last 4 years. STD deserves more respect than an opening spot for Senses Fail. I dont care how long theyve been out of sight they will still own you no matter many times you get played on MTV2.

Just because Saves the Old has been around longer and hating on Fall Out Boy is the cool thing to do post-April 2005 doesn't mean 1 song can't sound like the other. Do I like both bands? Yeah. Do I realize how stupid it is to say "two songs can't sound the same because one of the songs is by a band that I consider garbage"? Yeah. There a couple problems with your argument. First of all, when Fall Out Boy first started writing songs they had Saves The Day in mind. They wanted their band to sound like Saves The Day. Now, I dont think there is anything wrong with that because if you are going to pick a band to model your sound after (and every band does it in the beginning) it might as well be a great one. So to say that Saves The Day is writing songs that sound like Fall Out Boy is ridiculous because members of Fall Out Boy have even said that they wanted to start a band that sounded like Lifetime and Saves the Day. So essentially saying that Saves the Day sounds like Fall Out Boy is saying that Saves The Day sounds like Saves The Day. Second, I really don't think this song sounds like anything from FUCT at all, so I'm not exactly sure what you are hearing. This coming from someone who loves Saves The Day and also really likes Fall Out Boy.

Do you jerk off to your own posts?

Anyways, I get what you guys saying... Fall Out Boy modeled their sound after Saves the Day, so Saves the Day can't model their sound off of Fall Out Boy. All I was saying to begin with is I was listening to From Under the Cork Tree, played this video, and it sounded like the song they were playing was off the album, just different vocals. I wasn't saying Saves the Day is ripping off of Fall Out Boy, I wasn't saying Fall Out Boy is God, I wasn't saying Saves the Day sucks.
