PUNK OF COURSE! I cant believe this is even a discussion. BTW, there are a lot of ppl who think the music they listen to is punk, but its actually emo, so this may not be very accurate. For instance: Some pathetic NFG chodes-er- i mean fans sumtimes classify that over produced whiny noise they listen to as punk, when clearly they are emo. hmmm......i think im gonna start a thread on this topic...

hi, like others said I guess it really does depend on how you would define both for me. But for good, actual emo I like that stuff a whole lot like rainer maria and cap'n jazz (for the poppier side of it) and I guess Mohinder, early-piebald and swing kids (for the more hardcore emo).
As for Punk, I get kind of sick of these over produced pop-punk bands and then I also get sick of the macho hardcore punk bands that make fun of those not as hardcore as they (or those who champion themselves for how much they drink) I guess then I like the bands like death by stereo, the descendents, the minutemen and stuff like that.
So I would have to say if you define them like that, then I like both punk and emo the same.
