Hey guys, this is my sociology final. We had to create a project intended to inspire social change. I am a member of peta and a proud vegetarian, so animal rights mean alot to me.

I just need respones to the videos, i doesn't matter what im associated w/ or where the videos came from. please take this seriously, it is a part of my grade. Even if it is for sociology, i do need some comments to relate to the info, not the supposedly witty comments you guys think are cute.

Also, they use fear and shock-value to get people to join their cause. They call people who eat meat "killers" and "immoral."

Don't terrorists use fear to get what they want? And call americans immoral for how we live our lives? No I'm not saying PETA are as bad as bin laden/whatever, but they use scare tacticts (also like G.W.Bush.....) to get what they want.

I would never support an organization that advocates vegetarianism and veganism and spends a ridiculous amount of money on campaigns that are not REALISTIC (you can't just try and force everyone to go veg and if they don't, throw a bunch of flour or ketchup on them) AND advocate against animal cruelty; yet they go and kill off thousands of animals at their own "shelters" each year without even TRYING to get them adopted. I would have much more respect for them if, instead of campaigning for womens' breast milk to replace cows milk, they would go and campaign to adiopt animals in need, visit shelters, set up programs to actually HELP animals out, etc. all they do now is cause propaganda and they don't accomplish ANYTHING.

I don't completely disagree with you, but Peta can't adopt a lot of the pets it collects because they are in such dire straights that it'd be almost unfair to the animal to give them however many surgeries, medications, etc. and then still have them wait in a shelter waiting to be adopted. The animals they euthanize are in bad shape because of their owners. Someone posted this earlier: http://blog.peta.org/archives/2009/03/why_we_euthaniz.php and although Ingrid Newkirk is batshit crazy, I think it's a good reminder that despite the bad things people say about the organization they aren't as terrible as some opponents make them out to be

K thanks for your respones. i do agree that some peta sutff is redic, but they do serve a grater good and purpose. More commens would be awesome!
