Aren't haiku's supposed to be about nature? Anyway, I dug it but I've never really read a haiku that really blew me away. I do like your metaphors though.

Yeah I always thought haiku's are meant to be more nature oriented.....
And I also agree with spear about haiku's not really having a huge impact on me UNLESS it's really deep and woth stunning metaphors.
All said, I did quite like this. I've written a few things that compare war to music and I like the images it can conjure up in my mind :-)

I was IMing my buddy yesterday and accidentally started talking in Haiku. It freaked me out after I reread my messages.

Traditionally, haikus were nature-oriented, but nowadays it's not a necessity. I agree that this is not really affecting, which is a pitfall of English haiku writing. Japanese syllabic structure is a lot different from English syllabic structure, so how they use the 17 syllables is a lot different. That being said, it's commonly accepted that English haikus don't have to follow the 5-7-5 structure. Typically, English haikus have up to 14 syllables, no set meter length, and no set line length. Consider that, and write freely.

I quite like this but I agree, while I enjoy writing haikus it's hard to make them at all moving.

Slept in English Class,
I dreamt the day was Monday
Woke up with the bell.

Liked this a lot actually.
Haikus are really meant to be read in the Japanese language though was mentioned earlier. I think in translation, a lot of poems lose elements of their potency.
I still find the aesthetic appearance of haikus to be soothing and focused, so I hope that english writers feel like they can employ them. They might do better in groups though.
Nice work.
