i dont understand the mentality of killing someone in cold blood, however for a punishment, im all for it, unfortunentaly the got rid of the noose, so the short and almost easy way of dying (lethal injection) is all thats left, some states (Good 'ol texas) still use the chair though

If it didn't cost anything, I'd let them rot in a cell thinking about what they did for the rest of their lives. But that's not happening cuz it DOES cost money. So we should kill them, but we're such dumbasses that we keep them in jail, wasting money for years before they finally die. Convict them and hang 'em, end it early instead of giving them 85 chances for appeal and wasting tax money.

a death penalty trial costs 2 millions dollars and thats before the appeals process. sorry if youd rather kill someone then spend a couple cents.

this is an idea of chopper read's and i think its a beauty.
you put all the murderers, child molsesters, paediphiles, all the ppl that have to serve more than so many years in prison (i cant remember how many it was) and form and army core (dunno if that the right word an i cant spell it properly) outta them. train em up in the far northern territory where there is lots of space. and if they try to escape they are shot so most of them would prefer to stay. and we use them as the first ppl to march into any war that the country is involved in.
i probly didnt explain it well at all but i hope you get the idea.
am I understanding you correctly? Give murderurs weapons, and train them how to use them?

and send them off to fight our wars. and if they try to run away from battle, they get shot. so odds on they die and it wont cost 2 million a trial to do it.
whats to stop them from using these weapns against their commanding officers. It seems to me there would be more criminals the guards (the only way this could be effecant) so a muteny wouldn't be too dificult

I am against the death penalty, because our justice system has made mistakes before and it's horrible to let an innocent person die. It's awful to let an innocent person rot in jail, but it's worse to kill them.

I think people had the idea a few hundred years ago when they sent them to Australia. I say put them all on an island and let them kill each other.

Te death penalty is soooo wrong. Killing somone for killing? That doesn't even make sense. Ending a life should never be a means for punishment. I don't even understand how it is even considered a punishment now? Death is easy. Letting their asses rot and jail to become someone's biotch... Now thats justice.

I'm impartial. In most cases I would be against it. But, that sick fuck in florida, and the guy that killed the two little girls recently, both deserve to die. They are a waste of human flesh and deserve to die. It's similar to taking out the trash, I dont think we should pay to keep sick fucks alive

I have a really hard time making up my mind, but in most cases I'm completely against it. There are so many other punishments that could be considered so much worse. IE: life in prison with no hope for parole EVER.
I personally think it's ludicrous that there are people like that one guy in Florida who got out of his sentence early and ended up killing that little girl while people like Martha Stewart are being constantly watched for a crime not NEARLY as serious in consequences.

why don't we put murderers into slave labor for the family who lost someone to them...and they'd just have a collar which the pwner shocks them with and if they get too far away from the property...they collar explodes (Battle Royal reference!)

It may be hypocitical, but some people don't deserve to live after what they have done. In my opinion anyone who kills a child does not deserve to live a full life.

I think killing someone who killed another person is stupid. It's just one more death. Yes I realize that what they did was absolutely awful..but to me life in prison would be way worse.

You're point had nothing to do with the main idea of the argument. You are getting involved in something totally different: Killing in general. War is something totally different in the world, always has been, always will be.
Prison is not as bad as it is made out to be anymore. Especially if you are associated with one of the main groups, which most end up to be.

My friend and I had to do a project on capital punishment, and her uncle works at a jail as a security guard and he told us that of all the people who come in, ones who raped and/or killed children or women are the most hated and constantly get tortured by everyone else.

Yeah, I knew of the child killers being hated, but what about the guy that say robs a bank and kills 5 people in doing so. He won't live that bad of a life. Why keep them alive. Prisons will just get crowded
