Rise Against have updated their website journal.
So we've been jetsetting around the country all month rocking out for with some great bands and some terrible ones all over the place. First things first, thanks to all who came out to our Chicago homecoming shows at the VIC, we had an amazing time chilling with Anti-Flag, Bane and The Loved Ones as well as our good buds in Holy Roman Empire who ya'll should check out if you haven't already. After the show I was even able to rush over to see the encore of my favorite band ever, Pegboy... I only saw two songs but damn it was worth it...
Since then we've played in Detroit, Cinci, Tampa, Denver and LA. Detroit was cold as hell, but an awesome show, Cincinatti was also cold as hell where we played the "singers with big hair" show with Coheed and Motion City, and Tampa was a nice break in the sun where we ran into some old buds like Alk3 and My Chemical Romance.
Denver last weekend was one of the most memorable shows to date, and our biggest one yet. A sweaty sold-out show at the Fillmore with our friends in the Bouncing Souls and Wilhelm Scream and newbies Blackout Pact
(who were rad). We sported some dragon tattoos for our homeboys and homegirls and left Denver the next day already missing it....
I woke up the next day realizing that we were about to play a show with NIN, System Of A Down, and Korn. Thankfully when we got to LA, we had Thrice and A7X to hang out with as well as out brothers from a pop-punk mother Fallout Boy too. The show was on a stage that would rotate after we were done. It was interesting to be part of such a huge event, and rub elbows with minor celebrities, but shit, I'll take the Troub over that any day of the week...
Our last show of the year is in Edmonton this weekend and will probably end up being our biggest headlining show ever, so of course we are super amped to get up north, to one of the few places it's actually colder then Chicago....! After the holidays we'll put our game faces on and write a new record. I just got back from practice tonight and the songs are coming along now. We spent about a half hour imitating what Bon Scott would sound like ordering from Starbucks, but aside from that we're busy rocking out.
