one of the better metalcore/thrash releases this year, i think it was overlooked by many, but as usual its excellent, while youre at it check out the rest of their albums.

They're good in that they're all incredible guitarists but all of their songs sound too similar to me, but i like a few of their songs

I don't care what anybody else thinks, but With A Thousand Words to Say But One is one of the most lyrically beautiful songs I've ever come across.
I love undoing ruin, but for some reason Hidden Hands of A Sadist Nation comes of as better to me.
But Undoing Ruin is still up there.

second fave release of this kind. Right up there with oncoming storm by Unearth... but I'm not too knowledgable in metal so I hope that didn't come out as an insult...

good record, but easily the worst production on a metal CD I've heard all year. Absolutely awful.

quality record, one of the best of 2005. i dont see how the production lets it down though.
hidden hands is better though.

seriously? everything is so thin and hollow, i actually went out and bought the record because the mp3s I had were such terrible quality, but nope that's just how it was...

i didnt think the production was bad either, though it couldve been a little more bassy. but when undoing ruin leaked i listened to it for like three weeks straight, i've havent listened to it since.

man i'm so stunned to hear people didn't hear it. compare that to stuff that comes out on Century Media (Children of Bodom and Strapping Young Lad, etc) and compare the production...yikes. I like my metal to be produced and extremely clear. Not to mention the dude from Darkest Hour doesn't have a very good voice.

the weakest part of an otherwise good band.

I think they're fantastic musicians, I would love that CD with a different vocalist and better mixing.

i do think the production on this record is at times very hollow, but it's funny you mentioned strapping young lad, since i'm pretty sure someone in that band produced this record.
in any event, i think this cd is the best metal/hardcore release of the year.

i dont mind the production or vocals at all, id take his vocals over 80% of the other "metalcore" singers

I never understood your taste in music, you seem to bash the same stuff you love...then love the exact same stuff you bash. It amuses me.

example?
i bash generic shit, darkest hour is not generic shit, they are the best american thrash band period. ill bash shit that does nothing to a genre that is dying because of unoriginality.

I still listen to GP weekly. I think Hot Damn! is their best album and LNIT is a very close second.

Example - You bash on generic shit, yet you just said in another thread you love Bleeding Through. You are just so obnoxious to read on the forums because everything is the "worst shit ever." Like you say that about Norma Jean, but then you praise Botch like they're gods. I like both bands a lot, I think Norma Jean derives a lot from Botch, but both are respectable by their own rights. I just find it funny that somebody who enjoys a lot of what other people would call boring metalcore goes around shitting all over similar metalcore releases.
And Drew, agreed about Gutter Phenomenon.

haha bleeding through is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine, and i do not like botch or coalesce, but if people are going to praise shit like norma jean or the chariot i will tell them to listen to botch/coalesce, those bands did it before it was cool, those bands deserve the credit norma jean get. i enjoy bleeding through because its generic but well done, which most of the metalcore genre cannot say anymore. i hardly listen to any bands in that genre anymore because it has gotten so shitty.

i dont understand how its obnoxious, just because you might enjoy norma jean why should i not voice my opinions about them? it shouldnt stop you from enjoying them just like reading bands i despise get great reviews by kids or reviews on sites shouldnt make me like them, its just the way it is, nobody is going to have the exact same taste in music, ive seen far worse stuff on here then people calling norma jean "the worst shit on earth"

If I only notice it about you, it's saying something. I can't recite specific examples because I don't have any, like I said, it's just a continual attitude I remember about you and I think about whenever you post...like a psuedo-elitist who doesn't have "elite" tastes.

eh maybe you just venture into a lot of the posts about bands i dont like, i honestly dont try and make a point to trash bands, otherwise i would be ripping apart 95% of bands talked about on here, oh well i mean no harm like i said

i love this cd. I would have been better if the bass was turned up a little bit, but other then that, the guitar work is amazing.
