How'd everyone do? I actually haven't finished finals yet, so I only know one grade.

Econ 301 - Intermediate Accounting 1 - A
Econ 263 - Sports Economics - probably an A
Poli 210 - Political Philosophy - probably a B
Engl 100 - English Comp - probably a B

Oh yeah and I dropped Econ 312 - Intermediate Macroeconomic Analysis because my teacher was a fucking idiot and I wasn't learning shit. I had a B when I dropped it but it was a waste of my time. That explains my light schedule.

I worked my ass off for that shit. Next semester will be worse because I'm in I guess "honors" organic chem cause all biochem, pharmacology, and chem majors have to take a specific orgo II...and I fall in there.

I know I got an A in organic chemistry
that's really awesome. were the ucla exams helpful, or are you just brilliant like that?

richter915
12/22/05, 08:27 PM
they did help so thanks. It was hard to follow because with orgo, different teachers focus on different shit. Like at my school, my professor focuses on synthesis (starting with a molecule having less than four carbons, make this)...and it was hard to find a lot of stuff on that...and my professor gives a lot of multiple choice whereas most other schools focus on written/part II type questions.

I got an A in intro to molecular bio as well

There's no pluses or minuses at our school, so if you have a low or a high B, it's just a B.

That's pretty awesome, actually. I'm going for my PhD in Neuro...specifically in ion channel physiology. A lot of grants I've written contain the phrase "my research will help cure schizophrenia" but deep down, I think it's bullshit. I work on glutamate receptors...do you have any knowledge about it? For example, use of ketamine inducing schizophrenia?

I have knowledge on it from my undergrad, but I've never worked on it specifically. The only thing I worked on that is even remotely close was some Parkinson's research, but that was a number of years ago. I don't actually work in psychology anymore, I'm going for my Ph.D. in Computer Science, as it happens.
