Yeah I've seen him like 15 times and he has never played "Ballgame". I know he does play it pretty frequently, it just seems like I'm cursed or something. But the set is sweet, the new songs sound really good.

went to the show last night. My boyfriend should be in here at some point today to post the set list. He grabbed Kevins but some girl had asked for it before they went on so he gave it to her and grabbed Brians set list for Kevins set. It had Cotton Crush on there but they didnt play it. The dot hongs also cancelled on our show. Miniature Tigers were good (loved their shirt with the LOST Dharma symbol on it and they asked if anyone watched!) but the singer seemed just a teenie bit off to me. haha.

So the Orlando show was amazing as expected. If you saw a kid in a grey Format shirt with a camera around his neck, then you saw me. Anyway, Kevin played an absolutely GREAT set. I shot TEN songs on video including the powerful closer, "Brother's Blood." The videos I shot are in bold:
Brothers Blood (acoustic)
Cotton Crush
Carnival
Democracy
No Time Flat
Another Bag Of Bones
Hand Of God
Sweet Child O' Mine (Guns N Roses) the whole event that led up to this was fucking hilarious, btw.
Go Haunt Someone Else
The Longer That I'm Out Here
I Could Be With Anyone
Buried By The Buzz
Yr Husband
Tomorrow's Just Too Late
All Of Everything, Erased
You Are The Daybreak
Yr Damned Old Dad
Just Stay
Brother's Blood (full band)
Great set. I will post the videos when I have the chance over the next couple of days.

Sweet Child O Mine was amazing. They've teased it before, but if I remember correctly, this is the first time they managed to play all the way through, sans the second solo.

i only had room for 2 more videos on my 8GB card, and he hadn't played Just Stay or Brother's Blood yet, but I knew those were coming up. It was good to see him play that, though. I haven't seen him play that song since he was on tour with Brand New/Manchester 2 years ago.

This was, without a doubt, the best part of the entire set. Brian Bonz called out some guy who kept shouting "ERIC" and essentially began to freestyle rap/beatbox, which was golden. Then, somehow, our ears were graced with the first riff of Sweet Child O Mine, and the rest is hilarious history. Thanks for a great time, Kevin and Co!

thanks man. i think my favorite has to be the brothers blood video. and i got there a good 30 mins AFTER doors opened, and the place was near empty. Small turnout, Monday night, and it's finals week here for a lot of kids, so that factors into it. If your show is on a weekend, I'd get there 30 mins before doors.

You'll Only End Up Joining Them(acoustic)
All Of Everything Erased
----Band rejoins as time is running short.
Just Stay
Brother's Blood
Brian Bonz played a set that was mainly like the rest of tour, although he did include his cover of Superconnected with just him and Strandberg on stage. EJ (GDB bassist) played drums for the Dot Hongs, rather than Mike. Ben, the GDB drummer from the last tour, was hanging out around the bar all night.
Miniature Tigers and Sarah Jaffe were good, although I'm not nearly as familiar with their music, or I'd provide a setlist.
Kevin changed up his setlist a bit and mixed things around. Go Haunt Someone Else and Hand of God were flipped around on the setlist, as were Buried by the Buzz and I Could Be With Anyone. You Are The Daybreak was included on the setlist, same as last night, right before Just Stay, but was not played for time reasons. Kevin also did a partial cover of Democracy by Leonard Cohen before Another Bag of Bones. I asked him after the Orlando show if he could play You'll Only End Up Joining them the next night, and sure enough, he came through.
If anyone is trying to decide whether or not to go to one of these shows, please do. The tickets are cheap, and it's completely worth it. Brian recognized me from the previous night, sat down at the bar and talked over drinks. Kevin may be the nicest musician I've ever met, and Eric personally introduced himself and thanked me just for being there. You'll likely never meet a band that seems like they care as much as these guys do on tour.

This shit is happening tonight! I'll be interested to see how it is. I saw him twice before and both shows were weird. One show was after the Super Bowl and they started at 10:30-11. No one showed up and they people who did were kind of impartial about it. He still played a great set though. Another show he opened for Corine Bailey Rae and was just a horrible pairing. Corine Bailey Rae has a ton of fans and no one cared about KD (except for my friends and me). They just talked through his set. The front area by the stage was packed with people sitting on the fucking floor waiting for the headliner. Lame. He sounded great, though!
Anyway, tonight will kick ass!

I can't wait for tonight either! Just to be sure - the triple rock sells tickets at the door as well as online correct? someone told me their whole ticket system was weird so I think I'm going to call them just to be sure.
Oh, hey...yeah they sell tickets at the door. But I'm sure you figured that out. I have never had a problem with their ticket system. Their on-line things uses TicketWeb/Indie Tickets and they only change 1.00 service charge, so that's awesome...
Fucking great, great show. The best I've ever seen him. I love that his new album rocks out more than his previous ones. Crowd was really into it, too. Still not a packed, huge crowd. Maybe 30 people? Setlist in absolutely no order:
Cotton Crush
Bag o' Bones
Yr Husband
Murphy's Song
No Time Flat
Carnival
Hand of God
Go Haunt Someone Else
I could be with Anyone
Tomorrow's Just Too Late
Brooklyn Boy
You're Trailing Yourself
The Longer that I'm Out Here
Tap Dance
Just Stay
Brother's Blood
I may have missed one or two or three.....

Yeah I did figure it out ha. Kevin was incredible, so was Brian, and everyone else that performed too. Brian Bonz really stunned me live, I had no idea he would sound that perfect, I had never seen him live before. The show was one of the best I've been to.

Chicago date was FUCKING UNBELIEVABLE. I am so impressed. Brother's Blood was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen live. I'll be posting all of my videos within the next couple days. Also, I asked him to play Ballgame before the show and he kinda smiled and said he could maybe work something out. Apparnetly their touring manager wants them to end their set on Brothers Blood and hes not supposed to play any other songs. But he came out and said that he was going to do it anyways, so he played it after and it was bloody fucking beautiful.
I will never, ever miss this man if he comes within a 3 hour radius of my town. Please, to everyone considering buying a ticket to this show, please do it. There's no way in hell you can regret such a sincere, honest performer and if you don't at least like some of his music, or at least his music live (10 times better), you're seriously doing something wrong.

you also can't really hate on it because he played pretty much every song (if not more) than he's been playing on this tour already. He didn't "cut" anything for it, a tleast.

spectacular show as ive grown to expect from the guy.
i wasnt familiar with brian bonz solo stuff or miniature tigers but my buddy was a tigers fan. they were both really good. i had a chance to talk to kevin for the 2nd time and he was just as cool as before. i asked him at the end of our chat if he could play love me im a liberal, he said he would if it felt right on stage cuase he couldnt remember the lyrics (apparnetly the moment wasnt right but i understand, and told him i would if he didnt play it, and he apologized on stage for it)
he started out the show talking about how his brother's friend od'd on pills the night before and he dedicated the first song to him
-you'll only end up joining them
-cotton crush
in between songs here he sang a bunch of one-liners from bruce springsteen songs
-carnival
-another bag of bones
-no time flat
-you're trailing yourself
-go haunt someone else
-hand of god
-longer that im out here
-me and my friends
-burried by the buzz
-i could be with anyone
-yr husband
-----------------
-trouble ---sick, i was surprised
-tomorrow's just too late
-LORD I KNOW THAT WE DONT TALK!!! ---highlight of the show, i was so pumped on this, this is one of my favorite songs, and he related to a local news story (an abortion doctor who was also an usher at a church just outside of buffalo was shot and killed in the church on sunday) like...how amazing this was was unbelievable, i hope somebody got it on video
--------------------
-a medley of 90's pop songs
-you are the daybreak
-just stay
-brothers blood

Tonight was probably my favorite Kevin Devine crowd. Everyone was quiet and there was so much moving space.
I could say the show was awesome but that goes without saying.
OH! and everyone should be jealous I'm going to see Kevin again later this month when I go to London.

I saw him. My friend's sister's friend's mother (I think I got that right) was up there drinking in VIP with Jesse and Brian Bonz. She knew exactly who they were, too. Parents, haha. I'm glad Jesse didn't come out for a song.

lmao that's cute. and if he would have it would have been cool, but i can picture the screaming/no one paying attention the rest of the time/people only singing because he was there and glad he didn't.

All of Everything Erased [Kevin solo acoustic]
Noose Dressed Like a Necklace
The Burning City Smoking

It was incredible, as expected.
The only thing that annoyed me was at the end when the lights went up and people started clearing out - did anyone else see the one kid jump on stage and grab the setlist? One of the roadies ran on from the side of the stage and laid him out with both arms as if he was some kind of criminal, grabbed the paper from his hand & crumpled it up, and pretty much told the kid to get out or get arrested (or something like that, didn't hear too well). It was sorta fucked up that he couldn't just let the dude have his setlist.
Why's everyone so glad Jesse never played?
I think it woulda been fun

Boston was a pretty similar set to the Brooklyn show. He closed with Ballgame and instead opened with Not Over You Yet. And instead of The Shift Change Splits the Streets he played Probably. The jam with 90s songs was a mish mash and fun and awesome. Some Sugar Ray (multiple times), Lenny Kravitz, November Rain, and Blind Melon -No Rain. Oh, Kevin also played a cover of a Built to Spill song. He and the band played for just a shade under 2 hours and it was probably my favorite set of the year so far.
