There's no way Artest is going back to Indiana, Jermaine wants him gone...and that's really all that matters.
Al Harrington looks more and more each day like he's on his way out of Atlanta. Which, given our current streak of play, worries me...but he's a free agent and i dont see him sticking around after the season, may as well get someting in return.
two rumors floating are harrington to denver for nene and watson, or the most talked abotu trade with artest recently, harrington to the pacers, artest to the nuggets and nene and watson in atlanta. id like to see earl watson down here.
stephon marbury is finally going to be on his way out of NY...more details when they're available.

One fact you have to face is who in their right mind is going to take Marbury and his huge contract? If your team is DUMB enough to take a selfish player and huge contract like that then you should jump on another bandwagon.

Well Q Rich and Antonio Davs for Artest, Croshere, and Scott Pollard is basically the only deal I see working.

then the pacers might as well bend over and grab their ankles. the knicks suck and have nothing to offer. that team, minus the rookies, is a cancer.

Thats a horrible trade on the pacers part.

I agree with both of you completely. But from just what i've heard on sports talk radio shows here in NY a lot of GMs are kind of having a look but don't touch feeling with Artest. I'd say about 5 or 6 teams are actually looking to trade for Artest. If the pacers can't get a good offer and want some PF help and any permiter presence they'd think about that trade. Thats a big if though.
YouMadeTheScene
12/19/05, 07:06 PM
Also don't you guys think if there were teams really jumping at Artest with good offers or equal offers the trade would be done by now? The Pacers don't want this haunting them I'm sure.
Caleb Cattivera

yeah. but they've already cleared up thru espn and other sources there's no chance of him going to the knicks. he'll more than likely end up in denver.

if he goes to denver, I'll swear to god, I'll hate them more than ever and ron artest will lose my respect.

artest joining denver with carmelo and kmart would give me one more reason to hate that team

I don't think he's going to the knicks i just put the most likely trade if he somehow were.
I really have no idea where he is going to end up but I think the bottom line is it's obvious there has yet to be a great offer from anyone. Also since Nene is injuried can he really be traded? I always thought you can't trade an injured player for some reason.

He was developing into a good player in his final years in Indiana, he was a sixth man of the year contender, he was averaging around 13 ppg I think, and he wanted to be traded away from Indy so he could be the man somewhere else.

So he is entering the same situation where he'll be unhappy again.

No, because he will be the second option in the offense. When he was on the Pacers back in the day, he wasn't an option. THey had Miller, O'Neal, and Brad Miller and they were all options ahead of him.

exactly. I mean if this deal was so easy Artest would be gone by now. The Pacers are looking for something so exact from a team but there aren't that many teams willing to trade. And as said he can't come back after what O'Neal said.

They still have O'Neal and they have Jackson. He'd be a second or third option not a first option like he said he wanted to be.

jackson would become the third option. harrington is an overall better player than jackson now. he's a better shooter, from the three as well, he scores 19 ppg compared to jackson 13 ppg...and he's also not a one dimensional player like jackson, who can basically only score...where as harrington is pulling down 8 boards a game this year.
this would be the best trade for indiana.

He will be the second option guaranteed. O'Neal will be the first option, Harrington will the second option. Jackson is usually the third option. He was when Artest was in Indy, and he will the third option when Harrington gets here.

Caleb, you want artest on the hawks...and you'll argue for it ehhhh?
FondestMemory
12/19/05, 08:56 PM
i doubt the hawks will get him.
mostly because i doubt they'll trade him to an eastern conference team. they know how much trouble he can be to play against, they don't want that coming back to haunt them.
denver is very possible. as are the lakers and kings.
whoever gets him though is making a bad choice. he's a good player at an unbelievable price. but he won't settle for playing for 6.5m for too long. within a year he'd be a distraction due to contract issues.
i just wish he'd give it up and pursue his rap label full-time. i'm sick of him.

it's either denver or atlanta. lakers no. kings no. you think the hawks...are going to haunt the pacers...i mean, i know we've beat them once already this yar...but it's not like we're gonna be in the playoffs...it wont hurt them one bit.
lakers and kings are out of the running.

When I think of Artest going to the Hawks it reminds me of a few years back when Sheed was traded to Atlanta and they quickly spun him off to the Pistons. It could happen again so Bird/Walsh I'm sure are going to be very careful.
