Visiting this site these past couple of months has been pretty upsetting.
I guess every band who wanted to break up decided to break up in 2005.
However, I'm not believing this until an official press release like Bear vs. Shark.
Was the rumor about A Static Lullaby breaking up confirmed or denied yet?

Yah, it was a user submission. Supposedly they said at a concert that they were playing their last couple shows. Nothing ever came of it though.

Yeah I second that actually. I thought their old stuff was shit, but the new album was great.
That sucks if it is true, but I could understand it. Vendetta Red has been a hard working band for years now, and really haven't hit it big yet. Sometimes it's just best to move on.

i agree with you on finch.... but why the starting line? because matt and the other guy are managing bands now? its not uncommon for people in bands to become part of the industry in other ways. a good amount of labels are started by band members (ie. fueled by ramen, decaydence, and so much more).
and i hope midtown doesn't happen. i don't think that rumor about heath becoming part of SF is true. too many rumors for me to handle.. oh well.

I've been anticipating them breaking up since September, when my band did a show with them. They're the greatest dudes in the world, and they're an amazing band, but you could tell they were nearing the end. You can just tell when a band has given up the ghost.
P.S. Sisters of the Red Death is an absolutely amazing album. It sucks it didn't do better commercially.

the starting line will not break up anytime soon. they're free from their label and at the top of their game so why would they want to quit? and i could see midtown breaking up they've been around and the last album didnt do that good, they look pretty desperate. heath probably got out while he could. and by the way i dont know if youve been to any of the shows on the tour but he's been playing guitar and I wouldnt doubt them confirming it in their hometown. Its not like it will make them any better though.

yeah but dude...come onits just like...... its gonna be 2006 {so 4 years since last release?} soon last time i heard their album was suppose to come out in feb. of 2005. i just dont get why bands if they are not touring it needs to take them past two years? i mean lets say they take a rest. if they buckled down for like 9 months i think afi has the talent to have it done.people complained about finch taking too long and being lazy it was only 3 years for them... and about starting line i dont know i was just talking outta my ass i just heard their new album wasnt that well recieved sales wise even though i think its a excellent cd compared to their shit debut.and same thing with finch -excellent new album {old albums ok}but heard didnt boat too well eitherfucking geffen i tell yousatan owns that label

Man...this is some shitty news. I liked their first album but Sisters of the Red Death is just fucking amazing. It is one of the most surprisingly good albums of 2005. Honestly, it's the album that shocked me the most this year. That or Thrice...I wasn't expecting to like Vhiessu as much as I do. Listen to Sisters of the Red Death, even if you hate the band. Craziest concept album I've ever heard.

eh call me an optimist but I just don't think it's true.
and I really don't get all the VR hate....even their first full-length was full of catchy, solid tunes. Maybe they're an aquired taste. I agree with everyone who said that Sisters of the Red Death is a shocking surprise....such a good album. Don't knock 'em til you try that album.

yeah, i never said that i thought the starting line was goign to break. that other dude who i quoted said it. i don't think they'd break up anytime soon either, that would be dumb on their part since they get to start with a clean slate on a new label.
midtown.. its unfortunate their last album didn't do that well. i thought it was pretty amazing. a different direction than their previous 2 albums before that, but still...the themes and the lyrical content were awesome, IMO. i don't think they're desperate, i think they are just taking more time off than usual. heath is helping out SF, and Rob's got his own label to take care at the moment.
as for SF, although there was a post about heath supposedly becoming a permanent member of SF, if you read the rest of that thread numerous people testified that they were there also and that he never said anything of the sort. so its really still up in the air what was said that night. it looks that more people said the post was false, than true.

Man, that kinda sucks. Those guys are awesome...I remember seeing them 4 years ago at a super small show at my college with Fairweather and Christiansen. It was one of the best shows of my life, becuase I got to see Fairweather in their days of "If They Move, Kill Them"...then of course they broke up like a year and a half later. Vendetta Red were especially amazing though.
