Saw against me last night for the first time in a long time, it was pretty good. They played in a really really small venue and played a good amount of old songs. They played a bunch of new (not new wave) songs though. To me, the new stuff sounds much better then New Wave but they were still kinda boring, wasn't super impressed with the new stuff. Overall it was a fun show, it was good to see them play a decent set after a couple years of hearing nothing but new wave live (hopefully that doesn't happen with their newest album, they haven't even set a release date and they are playing 4 new songs live, similar to how they started playing tons of new wave songs). Met with the guys after the show and they are all cool dudes. But although this tour is pretty much over if you are gonna see them you should see them soon and take advantage of their sets.
Here is the set (not in order):
Pints Of Guinness Make You Strong
I Still Love You Julie
Reinventing Axl Rose
Those Anarcho Punks Are Mysterious
TSR
Cliche Guevera
Sink Florida Sink
Rice And Bread
Miami
Don't Lose Touch
New Song
New Song
New Song
New Song
New Wave
Americans Abroad
Thrash Unreal
Encore
We Did it All For Don
Amputations
Disco Before The Breakdown
Walking Is Still Honest
Highlights of the night that I did not expect were I still love You Julie (probably best song of the night), Miami (took me by complete surprise) and We Did It all for Don (really cool). Tom took off the guitar for walking is still honest and reacted with the crowd alot, it was cool. Not really a fan of his solo work, Amputations didn't really do anything for me. I still wish they played Baby... or Laughing at Danger, no matter how many times they play those songs its still fun.
