he will never be as good as TO is. he is a good receiver, top 5, that continually and very desperately hypes himself. i admire a lot of what he does on and off the field and hate TO, but he will never possess the physical skill of owens.

its hilarious in theory, but a) no one is going to let him bring a deer onto the field and b) lewis wont run a play to him that will let him score and then get suspended. he should just shut up about his plans and then unleash them

I respect your opinion, but I have to disagree. T.O. is definitely a great receiver, but he hasn't always been a phenom. It wasn't too long ago that Owens couldn't catch it cold in San Francisco...it took one breakthrough game to turn him into a legend (and give birth to that ego).

That being said, it's difficult for me to agree with the statement that Johnson "will never possess the physical skill of Owens." I really don't think T.O. is athletically far ahead of everyone else. He has good work ethic and makes some great plays. Yes, T.O. is difficult to cover. He runs tight routes and isn't afraid to go across the middle. And of course, he's a deep threat. But so is Randy Moss and every other blue chip wide receiver in the league! I think Johnson and other receivers are equally as gifted, but they often don't have someone talented enough to get them the ball.

Maybe I'm overlooking something. If T.O. was such a perfect athletic specimen, why wasn't he highly touted out of college? Just wondering. Enjoying the friendly football banter.

Chad Johnson is a much cooler version of TO. With Palmer, the sky's the limit for him.

He has to have some more big seasons to say he's a better WR than TO.

i hate t.o. more than i hate anybody on the planet, but i'll have to disagree with you here.

he started his career under jerry rice, so he wasn't going to be an instant breakout. but i think that experience playing with greatness sunk in a lot. he had the big catch from young in the playoffs. that's pretty much where the ego was born, even though he dropped a shit load of balls that game prior to that play. i'm not sure if you're referring to that as his breakout game or his 22 reception game, or however many it was.

if it weren't for his personality, i don't think anybody could argue that he's the best receiver in the game. he's a beast. yeah, there's other deep threats. there's other receivers who run their routes just as precise. there's other guys that will go over the middle. there's other guys that can take a five yard catch and break it for 90. but there isn't any one receiver that does all of those as effectively as t.o.

his combination of speed and strength is unheard of. and his routes are perfect. rarely is he not open. whether the ball gets to him or not is another story.

i still hate him though. i do like chad johnson. he's at least entertaining. although, i don't know how long he can keep this up and still be original. he's still fun to watch though. and he's a likeable person. which goes a long way.
