mtv isn't ruining punk music everyone, good charlotte is. once you take them off of mtv, there's no one really associated with the alternative music scene in rotation on mtv. and since mtv publicizes the hell out of everyone, they get out to everyone. so therefore anyone who really isnt into the scene gets a false sense of what the punk/alternative scene is. anyways, most good bands aren't hypocrital enough to be on mtv. so therefore your concentration shouldn't be on the folks who run mtv, it should be our dumbfuck friends from good charlotte who thought they invented a new chord, but really it was a c major chord. true winners in my eyes... true winners

Personally, I see no problem with punk on MTV or Tv at all. Like AFI is a featured band right now, and I'm happy. I want people to hear punk. Because, if more people listen to punk, it will recieve alot more spins, knocking the other meaningless bullshit off the air.

the mtv 'employees' dont choose what to play. the record industry gives them money to play certain bands more than others. its not like college radio where the dj's play whatever they want. they play what they have to.

People are always saying how much MTV sucks. MTV is there to make money. They aren't in it for the music. People want to hear what's popular. So MTV plays what's popular. MTV is playing it's part in our market economy very well. They're doing their job.
