okay here's what i remember....people should fill in haha
first off
Local band doing Radiohead C-
- I didnt recognize the first three songs and left. I was unimpressed with the decision to start out with obscure songs. Im not the biggest radiohead fan in the world, but I wasnt big on them.
Push Play Doing Muse A-
- Stockholm Synrdome
- Hysteria
- Time is Running Out
- Starlight
- Supermassive blackhole
Im missing a few songs here, but they were actually impressive...they nailed a lot of the hard guitar parts and hit the voice pretty accurately, and the set was ideal. Good job.
Ingrid Eye Doing Who B
- Bob O'Reilly
- Pinball Wizard
- My Generation
- Wont Get Fooled Again
2-3 other songs, but again i was impressed with their attitudes, and ability to play somewhat difficult songs..and sound good at the same time. they were into it..and was very epic sounding. Only knock was that Who songs can drag at times, not really their faults.
Cartel doing NFG A
- All Downhill from Here
- Hit or Miss
- Better Off Dead
- Dressed to Kill
- Understatement
- My Friends Over You
- Vegas (missed this song)
VERY GOOD! I mean its cheap...but this was dead on. A scene band playing an older scene band...not exactly the most difficult of tasks, but still a lot of fun. BUT AGAIN, maybe its just because NFG songs are fun in general. The lead singer of NFG sang with Cartel in the end for My friends over you. The crowd was really into it.
Mercy Mercedes doing Midtown B+
- Just Rock N' Roll
- Give It Up
- Like a movie
- Blink song (dumpweed)
- some song i wasnt familiar with
I LIKED IT. Whens the last time you heard these songs live? And they were fun...i love like a movie and jsut rock n roll, so i got into it crowd wise. Good set
Bayside doing NOFX B+
- Linoleum
- Stickin in the Eye
- Bob
- How did the cat get so fat
- Antennas
- 3 others, i need help on these.
No Dinosaurs will die, no franco unamerican, no brews. Maybe im being picky, but there are a lot of good nofx songs they didnt play....but I give bayside a lot of credit. They played someone totally fun, ACTUALLY sounded like NOFX a lot, and got me really into it. The set was obscure, which is cool, but meh.
Forever the sickest kids doign Avril F
- Skater Boy
- Complicated
- My Happy Ending
- Dont Tell me
- Fat Lip (sum 41)
BY FAR THE WORST THING I SAW AT HOODWINKED. These guys were SUCH assholes its not even funny. They had this attitude like this was lame and stupid that they were doing this...and the music sounded exactly they acted..AWFUL. The singer didnt sing MANY verses, the band was off a lot, he complained about the stage size, they took forever to get the set started, and he only played 4 avril songs. Im sorry but, THEY CHOSE Avril...and they butchered it. Like if you're going to do something as obsurd as Avril, make it fun? Change it up idk.
Sum 41 doing Metallica B-
- Enter Sandman
- Master of Puppets
- Still Waiting
- 3 others
Umm...the problem with this set was that there was a LOT of long drawn out metal solos...which, is not for me. And I think since ive seen sum41 do metallica songs before (vh1 special a long time back)..the set didnt scream out amazing for me. I mean, they were their typical metal loving selves..and got the crowd to go nuts. by far the biggest mess of a pit of the day.
NFG doing Green Day A+++++++++++++++++++
WOW! WHAT A FREAKING SET! In order by ALBUM
Kerplunk:
- 2000 Light Years Away
- Welcome to Paradise
Nimrod:
- Basket Case
- Longview
- When I Come Around
- Burnout
Insomniac:
- Jaded
- Armatage Shanks
- Geek Stink Breath
- Brat
Nimrod:
- Nice Guys Finish Last
- Time of Your Life
Warning:
- Waiting
Angus Soundtrack (yup):
- J.a.R.
No American idiot. They played songs that even Green Day dont do live anymore...it was AMAZING! I couldnt ask for a better set ever...like, im in awe thats how good it was. the songs were obviously right on cue, and the pit was perfect for me. Although the kids didnt really get into the insomniac songs (the most fun)..but whatever. GREAT JOB
Anti-Flag doing Clash A-
- Should I Stay or should I go
- Guns of Brixton
- I Fought the Law
- Janie Jones
- Im So Bored with the USA
- White Riot
- 1 or 2 more
Can you get a more perfect set for a band. Antiflag IS the clash..i mean come on. You could tell these guys were really digging this...unfortunately they didnt have much of a crowd as most people peaced at the end, but it was very warped tourish..and fun. I need to familiarize myself with clash
*NOTES
Set Your Goals doing Dave Grohl: I only saw two songs, and this was very dissapointing. They werent really into it, and it dragged the crowd down terribly. How do you fail at Nirvana?
Nerver Shout Never doing Beatles: Only word I can use to describe this......LAME.
Badfish: I was tired.
WTK/JEW, Britney/Danger Radio, Coldplay/BLG, Ataris/misfits, Queen/Cab: I didnt see them.
