I've been told by everyone from girlfriends, best friends, and ex bandmates that I have the worst taste in music in the entire world. On that note, these are the best CD's from 2005.
1 - Turbonegro - Party Animals
One of those punk records that has everything start to finish. This is one of those records that really punches you right in the lip. I would die to see this band live.
2 - Dandy Warhols - Odditorium or Warlords of Mars
Back to the old school dandy ways on this record. simply amazing. one of my fav bands right now. the critics hated it for all their long drawn out jams. by critics I mean Scooter, my singer. They can go to hell. I feel bad for Fear Before Adam, because he won't be able to see them with me. =(
3 - Backyard Babies - Tinnitus
I don't know if this counts, since it's more of a compilation. Yet, it's their first US release. While they left out a lot of great BYB songs, it's still a great mix from one of the best rock bands around.
4 - The Chelsea Smiles - Nowhere Ride EP
Only 4 songs, but this was one of those very few bands that I have seen that I stood there with my jaw on the floor from their very first note. They were so inspiring.
5 - American Hi-Fi - Hearts on Parade
At first I hated this record because I was used to the AHF that would rock hard, but I soon fell in love with the hooks. The songs get stuck in my head so easily.
6 - Dope - American Apathy
Bought this CD on tour, and I wasn't really allowed to listen to it except the 1 hour in the middle of Iowa when everyone was asleep. They're my favorite band and it's a strong release, better than their last one, but not like the old days.
7 - A Wilhelm Scream - Ruiner
Trevor is amazing. That's all that needs to be said.
8 - Our Lady Peace - Healthy In Paranoid Times
I waited so long for this CD, and the first song made me realize how well worth the wait was.
9 - Horrorpops - Bring It On
I hate rockabilly and psychobilly, but something about this record makes me love it. Or it's my girlfriend making me listen to it nonstop. I don't really know.
10 - Bowling For Soup - Goes To The Movies
I just got this, and I can't stop listening to it. This band is so awesome, and anyone who really takes these guys serious enough to put effort into hating them should be shot. "Ready or Not(Omaha Nebraska) is such an awesome song that anyone who has been on tour through Nebraska will find themselves laughing very hard.
