8. "x&y" - coldplay
7. "phantoms" - acceptance
6. "almost here" - the academy is...
5. "from under the cork tree" - fall out boy
4. "until we get caught" - hit the lights
3. "in your honor" - foo fighters
2. "chroma" - cartel
1. "commit this to memory" - motion city soundtrack
ill be honest. I hated the first mcs record (save for 2 songs.. but I dig it now) and only checked this record out at first because I'd always been a mark hoppus fan. what I found was that in my eyes, this record encompasses what a good record should be. it starts off strong, and keeps you into it thru every song on the whole record. I don't skip a single track, and I can't help but to sing / air-drum along to it when its on. the lyrics & music are both well thought out, with substance past general boy girl drama. the artwork looks amazing, and the production is perfect. to me it sounds like old motion city, with a couple pages borrowed from the "how to write catchy hooks" book by mark hoppus / tom delonge. a+. if you don't have this record, go buy it. this band could / should be so much bigger.
honorable mention: "plans" - death cab for cutie, " a collection of short stories" - houston calls, "everything in transit" - jack's mannequin
