ALRIGHT. Good Charlotte hosted a fucking MTV program. If that isn't enough, they are mainstream. They sold out. They still think they are punk when they are really posers for thinking that. The only good guy in that band is the drummer that quit.

And they definately did say they were punk. Read the note from benji on the little book dealie that comes in their last CD, he's talking about hsomeone telling him not to care if people say they arent punk, and I believe its in one of their songs too. Personally, I couldn't care less about what label i mihgt be or the music i listen to is. If I like it, fuck it, I'll listen to what I like.

alright...
ill start off by saying, that i think good charlotte sucks ass..i dont like them at all, and i really dislike how the one guy in the band steps onto the stage looking like Lars, and they start playing and the girls go all crazy...the first time i saw them im like "whoa these guys looks hardcore"...what a let down.
but to say they arent "punk" is something i dont think i can make...and it all comes down to my definition of the word.
Good Charlotte picked up their instruments at really late stages in life, said "fuck it lets play some music" and started a band for fun. They couldnt play for shit, yet thats what they wanted to do, so they did it anyway.
I still think they cant play, but at least theyre doing what they want to do, instead of working some shit ass job every day. To me thats what this whole "punk" thing is about. And no matter how much i hate their music, no matter how much i hate the shrill of 12 year old girls in the background, ill always have respect for their decision to just pick up and play.
that doenst mean ill respect the music they play..for the record.
Another thing i want to add...i always hear people saying shit like "i liked old gc" or "old nfg"....when bands have been around for less than 5 years, have 2 or 3 cds that all sound the same...there is no such thing as "old stuff"....its the same shit, and if you liked it before the band "got big" then the only reason you dont like it now is because you're pretending you hate it just to look cool. Which is really against all that punk is supposed to stand for.

if a bands original music fits major label wants...then the band didnt sellout...a band cannot be born sellouts.
sellouts = most overused word in music ever...its the excuse people use for hating a band, when they cant think of a real one.
