sombody correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't coldplay form in 1996, and release their first ep in '98? and something about airplanes was released in 1999. i'm PRETTY sure. so, unless death cab had an earlier cd that i'm not aware of, coldplay was around before death cab for cutie.
