View Full Version : No Doubt Summer Tour

Support bands for the various dates are Katy Perry, The Sounds, Paramore, Panic at the Disco, Janelle Monáe, Bedouin Soundclash and Tinted Windows.

The tour officially started tonight in Atlantic City. The venue was the Borgata, quite different from the other venues on the tour, in that it only holds 2400 people. Tinted Windows opened -- their power-pop offerings were hit-or-miss. Though Taylor Hanson has a good voice, it was often buried in the mix. When they were on, though, they were quite good, especially on their poppier numbers.

Everyone was obviously there to see No Doubt and the venue was quite full by the time they started (but not uncomfortably so -- the Borgata Event Center has plenty of open space). They kicked things off with "Spiderwebs" and proceeded through a set of mostly hits over the next 90 minutes. The band was in top-notch form, especially surprising after their rather disastrous showing on the Today Show just a day earlier. Predictably, Gwen Stefani stole the show although bandmates Tony Kanal, Adrian Young, Tom Dumont and touring members Stephen Bradley and Gabrial McNair were no slouches at all. The energy remained high throughout, both in the band and throughout the crowd. Highly recommended -- see them if you can.

Setlist (mostly in order -- may be missing a song, but I don't think so):
Spiderwebs
Hella Good
Bathwater
Excuse Me, Mr. (new slower version)
Ex-Girlfriend
Underneath it All (I'm fairly sure they played this, though I could be wrong...)
Happy Now?
New
Guns of Navarone
Running
End it On This
Simple Kind of Life
Hey Baby
Don't Speak
Just a Girl
It's My Life

encore:
Rock Steady
Different People
Sunday Morning

hmm i was hoping they would play a little less singles and more older stuff, but good set list anyway(except different people, I never really liked that song). glad to hear they sounded good, can't wait to see them.

NOT COOL! This song rules BECAUSE it's fast.

No Doubt's set list is good, assuming that is what they will also play on the actual tour.
I'm slightly disappointed with Paramore's set though. Slightly. I would rather hear "Emergency" or "Franklin" over "Decoy," personally. Actually, I'd rather hear "Franklin" over almost everything... Well, maybe not... I just massively need to hear it! I don't really know how I feel about them ending with "Decode" either. But oh well. I guess I'm just be happy to be seeing them again! :D And STOKED to hear the two new songs! :D

I wonder if they had second thoughts about not having it on Riot! because they've been playing it quite frequently. IMO it was one of the better songs from that batch. "Decode" was an interesting choice for the end. While it might make sense for an encore to have your latest single at the end, they're the openers so that doesn't apply.

I feel they should start with Emergency and finish on Stuck On You personally.

No Doubt looked ok from the Youtube's I saw. Interestingly though that's the first time I have ever seen a support band get a similarly loud reaction to the headliners. :)

Just wanted to pop in and say that the Denver show tonight was rad. Great show. The show sold out right away after tickets went on sale, which made the energy that much higher. All the setlists were the same as a few posts above.

The Sounds were good, missed the first two songs but what I saw they were good. The only song I know by them is Living in America and they didn't play it. Paramore was who I was most looking forward to see (before the show, of course) and they did great. New songs sounded great.

No Doubt put on such a great show. There was so much energy. They looked like they were having so much fun. And Gwen has a great voice. Fantastic show.

I too just got back from the Denver show. I missed The Sounds completely since my roommates a dipshit and can't plan ahead. Both Paramore and No Doubt sounded great. I will admit, No Doubt puts on one hell of a show. Gwen sounded amazing. As the previous poster said, the set lists a few posts up are spot on.

I have extremely religious parents... I can't see No Doubt because of their "offensiveness" and so I'd only be going up there for The Sounds (who I conveniently forgot to mention) and Paramore. My dad was actually going through youtube videos trying to decide if he should let me go or not. $10 to see Paramore play somewhat locally would be worthwhile but driving to Raleigh for half a concert?

I'll just have to wait until I can find a way out of here or they headline in Charlotte.

I was gonna catch this in either Kansas City or St. Louis, but then Brand New came out with their little show in Chicago and it's sandwiched in between that BN date. So I guess I'll be missing this show this summer. But I can attest to the praise for ND live. Saw them in the pit a few years with Blink. They are great live.

Found a ticket via craigslist at the last minute and was able to see the Charlotte show, minus No Doubt (just "Spiderwebs"). It was totally great. I think The Sounds' stage presence rivaled Paramore's... I have quite a bit more interest in their music now. Paramore was fun and completely what I expected... that's both a good thing and a not so good thing, but I'm so glad I got the opportunity to go.

No Doubt looked and sounded like they were kicking ass. Oh well. I loved their stage setup.

They played Stop This Song (Lovesick Melody) during the Jimmy Eat World tour I think. I saw them perform it at Bamboozle Left.

I expected them to end with Decode. As much as I would love to have them end with a fan favorite, I'm not surprised that they go with their latest singles, mainly because they actually love their singles (unlike some bands.)

Just went to the show last night, and the set times were as follows:

Doors @ 6

The Sounds: 7:00 - 7:25
Paramore: 7:40 - 8:30
No Doubt: 9:00 - 10:45(ish)

It seemed to me like No Doubt's setlist was SHORT. They played tons of songs, yeah, but I work at the venue, Nissan Pavilion. Our sound curfew is 11:00 PM, and No Doubt finished their first set at 10:15. They came on about 5 - 10 min later for their encore. Maja and Hayley, and all of the other members of different bands accompanied them onstage for .... was it "Different People" or something similar? .... and to my knowledge they only had 3 or 4 songs during encore. I normally don't leave til the set's over, but I was DD'ing last night and I had 3 drunks to get out of the venue. So we actually walked out of the venue at 10:40 and they were winding down.

It might seem picky, that they finished 20 minutes early (a whole 20 min, whoop dee doo), but the night before we had George Strait almost push 11. Maybe its cos George has been around longer, but even Coldplay played until almost 11. I don't know.

Regardless, I had SO much fun during No Doubt. It made me realize that I know so much more of No Doubt's music than I thought. Spent the whol night watching the show from VIP, had a blast.

In Toronto, it was the last song they played. It's a single, isn't it? So I'd think they would play it every show.

Janelle Monae was really boring and played like 4 songs. wish we got the sounds instead.

Paramore was very on point, pretty sure it was the same list posted, mostly familar with the singles and a few others, wish they played more than 1 song off AWNIF.

No Doubt was freakin phenomenal. so much energy, great performance, the entire crowd was sooo into it. def. a different ND experience from the last time I saw them, a lot more ska influence going on now. Gwen also pulled some people on stage and was signing autographs to the first row.

there was a decent size selction, but it wasn't that nice looking for the prices imo. tank tops around $30, t-shirts $30-50, hoodies were like $70-90, posters were $15-20, and then there was some other odds and ends.

WHEW! So I went last night, and let me tell you- No Doubt sure does know how to put on a show.
Alright, so seeing as no one had posted a Bedouin Soundclash setlist, I was sure to get it.
They just came on stage and started right in, and not a lot of people noticed. (I did! haha)
-Until We Burn
-St. Andrews
-something I didn't know... but I caught "I was fourteen when I broke the law"
-Living in Jungles
-Gyasi Went Home... I think haha
-When the Night Feels My Song
-and again something I didn't know... but caught "science is a power..." and lots of nanananas
They were REALLY great and after they played EVERYONE was asking who they were... I thought that was funny :)
So then Paramore came on, and as per usual, were amazing.
The set was the same as has been previously posted, but they didn't play "Decoy." Hayley said she was having vocal problems, so they may have skipped that as a result. "Ignorance" and "Where the Lines Overlap" sounded soooo good... And a few people knew the words to Ignorance.
Then No Doubt came on. Boy, did I get a shock. I knew it was going to be big and epic, but I didn't know it would be THAT big and epic.
Holy cow.
I didn't even bother trying to catch the set, but it was basically the same songs, just switched around. It was so much fun. They definitely gained a whole new respect from me and got bumped up about 10 miles on the awesome scale. I don't think I stopped moving for the whole set. Just... wow. Paramore didn't come out for "Stand and Deliver," which disappointed me, but oh well.
As far as the crowd went, the pit seemed like it sucked. I was on the lawn, but looking down, all I could see was the back of cameras. No one really moved through the whole show down there. The lawn was hoppin' though! However, when Gwen said "jump," EVERYONE jumped. Those 25,000 people could've caused an earthquake.
The thing I loved most about No Doubt was their crowd interaction. Gwen practically lived in the pit at times, and everyone came down at the end and high-fived all the people and what-not. Gwen read people's signs, took their gifts, and got a guy on stage for a picture. It's crazy that, as famous as she is- well, as they all are really, they still love the fans and want to be with them and have that interaction. I saw Fall Out Boy in May and they didn't do anything like that, other than when Pete came down for "Saturday." No disrespect to Fall Out Boy in any way, though.
Overall it was a FANTASTIC show. I would do it all again if I could.

^ Pretty much sums it up perfectly. The lawn was BOUNCIN!

Hayley just sounded like she had lost her voice, and even with that, she still sounded good, but her voice was very weak, not as powerful.

And I'm with you, I really thought more people would be there for Paramore than No Doubt, I had so much fun, and I barely even know No Doubt (I was one that went for Paramore), but DAMN Gwen and co. made it a concert to remember for a long time.

Next up for me at Verizon is Motley Crue! Always a great show with those guys.

Yeah I follow her on Twitter and she gave her vocals some needed rest for 2ish days before our city and she sounded amazing. I guess the days when it`s date after date after date she can`t really rest up.
