So i have a major problem. Im about to start college in 3 months. I have completely NO idea what i wanna be in life. When people ask me what do i like, what am i passionate about...the only answer i have to give is Music. I cant sing nor play an instrument but i love music. I love going to a million shows & buying new albums etc. What careers are in the music industry & how do i go about doing so? Internships? ADVICEEE PLEASEE!

uhh...use the internet. there are no good jobs for you if you can't play music or sing.

Have you spoken to any 'specialists' on careers? They give really good advice

Internships in the music industry are highly competitive, and it might be too late to get one for this summer, good luck though

Yeah, I have been in the music business for quite sometime now... and it is just a dog eat dog world, I mean I basically watched these two girls fight over the last internship spot at a place I was working... somewhat entertaining but it goes to show they wanted it haha.

And I just now, after about 4 years am starting my own thing, and hopefully it doesn't fail right away and I can build up my rep, but that's irrelevant... anyways...

Just make sure you get connections of some kind, that is about the best advice I can give. Connections lead to big things.

How about basing your life on something you have merit in rather than these silly ballerina fantasies?

Or you could kill yourself.

middle tennessee state university offers a bachelor's degree in the recording industry. you can either go down the pro/tech road and do studio work, or music business road and do label-y stuff. (i wouldn't know, i'm a pro/tech major.) check it out though. we don't have a big name but we do have a pretty big school (26,000+).

This pretty much.

And you could always learn a fucking instrument, it's not that hard.

Why don't you just get into the country music business if you want a lot of money fast... there is a lot of money there, and everyone seems to buy into that genre.

Get hired onto a country record label, I hear they need more young people to find more young country talent.

Start a record label. It's fun. Seriously, do it. Don't think about the how's. Just do it. Now. You'll thank me in twenty years.

If you need to ask an online forum this question, there is no way you will be successful in this career choice.

I'm surprised it took someone so long to realize it! Haha.
