3 TDs is more than you could have asked for today. I think he pretty much locked up MVP after tonight.

he's having the best year in the NFL.

That was the most ridiculous example of stat padding ever (the 3rd TD). He was out of the game, Morris was in and did the work. He should have got the TD.

The sad thing is I think LJ would be challenging Alexander if he played a full season. If the Chiefs make the playoffs he will have strong considerations as an MVP candidate.

Both of those guys have been amazing. Barber also.

Strahan was the worst.

I didn't like what Favre did on that Strahan play, but that's not the same as this. Strahan was still in the game, plus getting a sack isn't the same as coming back into a game to score a 1 yard TD run against back ups for a team that's had an emotional seven days.

Larry Johnson has seriously been the best RB in football this season. That was the #1 rushing D today, the D that held Edge to 25 yards last week, the D that hasn't allowed a 100 yard rusher in a long time. And this guy had his way with them, air and ground. And it wasn't all o-line. That 26 yard TD catch was beautiful. He's faced a lot of top 10 rushing D's, and still comes away with 100+ yards and multiple TD's. It's crazy.

yeah, I don't know. I can't really knock it. The Strahan thing was similar. The Packers were running down the clock and Favre practically took a knee.

Remember the shit Holmgren got last year for not letting alexander get one more carry for the title.

Dude - think about this for one second.

Shaun Alexander is a free agent in the off-season. Last year, Holmgren didn't let him get his rushing title by benching him with 1 yard to go. This year, Holmgren knows well enough to keep his players happy in these situations... So he lets Shaun come in, get his record, and come back out. Stat padding? Of course. Done for a good reason? Absolutely. A happy Shaun Alexander means a resigned Shaun Alexander in the off-season. The last thing the Seahawks want to do is give Alexander a reason to leave.

You can't tell me Alexander's not going to get a TD against Green Bay next week. That team's about as bad as the back ups for Indy. I don't mind scoring the TD at all there, but don't bring in a starter after taking him out to do it. That was very cheap. I'm not going to call it classless, I'm just going to say cheap.

And from what I hear, the contract talks with Alexander are very bad.

Shaun won't play much next week, and if the situation isn't there for him to score in the first few quarters, then no, I don't think he will. I don't think it makes a difference who scores the touchdown, I think it sucks for Alexander that he's on a team that's so good that he doesn't get the chance to break a record he easily would have gotten. He was pulled from the game to protect him from getting injured, not because the game was a blowout. If he were on any other team, he doesn't come out in the first place, so I wouldn't exactly call it cheap. Cheap is Strahan and Favre arranging for the "sack" before the game and Favre just handing it to him. I don't know "from what you hear," but that's total bullshit. Shaun will be back in Seattle, there's no doubt in anybody's mind. He's expressed it before that he loves it here, his family is here, and he likes this team. From what you hear. Hilarious. I don't even think Shaun has talked about his contract at all with anybody this year.

you're obviously wrong. He's talked with still_life about it.

and there is no way they can let him walk away, anyways. if they do, they should burn the stadium down.

Hahah, I would laugh my ass off if some team burned their stadium down because they couldn't resign their star player.

the notion is humorous. but they really can't afford to let him walk this off season. He's too important.

I would love to see the Philly fans do that, they lose Donovan and burn the new stadium, that'd be good for a chuckle

Seahawks RB Shaun Alexander said on KJR that his contract negotiations haven't gone anywhere this season. This is consistent with what has been happening (or not happening) with his contract going all the way back to last year. His direct quote was, "You don't want to know" when asked about the status of contract talks.

the seahawks have said all season long that they're not going to give shaun a contract until the end of the year; so that he won't be able to relax....that he'll have to work his ass off to stay in Seattle (and so far it's been working. Look at the year he's having). Trust me, we'll give him an offer he can't refuse. Afterall, our owner is the co-founder of Microsoft....Paul Allen.....dude's loaded. He makes Mark Cuban look like a peasant.

The point is, the hawks will offer Alexander as much as they can, or they'll free up cap room to offer him whatever he wants.

as a red sox fan i've heard this many times before ...pedro ...nomar ...damon ...

right now i say the odds are greater than 50/50 that Alexander isn't in a Seattle uniform next year. If they were sure about his return, this would be wrapped up by now. Whatever else they say is basically to keep the media and public from creating an issue during the season.

I just don't think that's true. We pretty much handled the Hasselbeck situation the same way, and once he saw that everyone was coming back and we made him an offer, he returned. Shaun's just not like your money hungry Pedro and Damon.

Yeah, I dont know much about the organization. Anytime a player/team say they're waiting until the season is over to work out a contract always seem suspicious, though.

i think waiting til the end of the year is gonna benefit alexander tremendously. i honestly think he'll be back in seattle, and i hope so. he's good for that team.

but if he has a chance to technically be a free agent and see what other teams will be willing to offer him to play for them, then that ups what seattle's gonna pay to keep him.

and as far as the touchdown, i don't see it as being cheap. seattle gets over looked a lot because of the whole west coast thing. this game was the primary game of a cbs double header against the super bowl favorite. so a lot more people were tuned into this game than will be next week against green bay. he's earned it. let him do it for a bigger audience.

but more importantly, it was a home game. much better to break a record like that at home than on the road. the fans deserve it.

actually No. There is no collective bargaining agreement after this season and talks are not going to resume until february. Edge and Shaun will not see there money until atleast March.
