yet another mtv/gc thread

i was wondering, is this "gc punk" trend on mtv going to end right? in another few years good charlotte and avril lavigne and simple plan will all be long gone, lost in the sands of time.

On another note, while gc is undoubtly horrible and are undoubtly posers, i have to wonder how many kids might listen to gc, then go to shows, then think about what other bands are "like" them, and then as the years go by, listen to better things.

and why is the GC punk era? are you saying they were the first "punk" band to not be "punk"

because, as i recall, green day were called mall punk and bands like the offspring were accused of ruining "punk" as well. although i am not a good charlotte fan at all, i think it's severely unfair to place the blame on them when they, simple plan etc..site the same bands as influences, and good charlotte is never an influence when pop punk bands pop up.
