did this guy take acting lessons or something? I'm suddenly impressed with him as an actor. I thought he was good in Lords of Dogtown, he was able to stand out in a shitty movie (the Brother's Grim), now I hear he did really well in Broken Back Mountain. He used to have one role he could play, not he's suddenly versitile.

In recent interviews he talks about how much he hated his career and he tried to kill it. He was type-cast as the "blonde bimbo" and was only offered certain roles. So, apparently, he tried his hardest to ruin his career so that he could start over. He was fantastic in Brokeback Mountain, this guy is proving himself to be a great actor. So maybe it wasn't that there was only one role he could play, maybe it was the only role he was ever offered.
