So Canadians took over 2005...are they responsible for all the shit that happened?

I've always been drawn to Canadian bands. Most of them are fucking awesome. Like Fifth Hour Hero, One Candle Power, The Weakerthans, The Paperbacks, Moneen....The St. Catherines. good stuff.
Then theres celine dion. But whats a good gene pool without a few mutations?

I love Metric. Great live show, Emily is an awesome front woman, and their last record was amazing. However, I listened to their new record numerous times and can't get into it as much as their last album. It's not as jumpy and instantly catchy. It's a bit more subdued and mellow.
death from above 1979, too
Ugh, so many great Canadian bands other than Metric. I seriously cannot stand that band

Mmm Canadia, I love fuckers who like to think we produce shit, for every shitty band we produce their are probably 50 shitty American bands.

Nice job Canada
Yes i mean there is shit that comes from us (Nickelback, Default, Simple Plan, Theory of a Deadman, those dudes that sing that song "Just Like You" and "I hate everything about you"..fuck what are they called) anyway...actually shit that was a really unexcusable list but hey when we make stinkers we make stinkers! Can I get an AMEN
i've actually been really impressed from what's come out of canada lately. I guess we had to recover from avril...sorry

The great thing is there's still plenty of bands that still need to blow up stateside. Stabilo. Rio Bent. Ethers Void. And those are just some Vancouver-area bands. And, heck, let's not forget about bands like Propagandhi, The Weakerthans, and the Barenaked Ladies (I don't give a shit what you think about their albums, this band puts on the best live show in rock..I can guarantee that everyone would enjoy their live show if they'd just give them a chance). Sure, Canada has unleashed some bad music on the world, but so have a lot of other countries! I just hope this recent trend will increase respect for Canadian music scenes.
good. if they hadn't included bedouin in that article i would've had to punch faces.

pretty good? they're better than just pretty good. especially compared to a band like alexisonfire (sorry, i just can't stand them).
i really wish people would stop about canada...i love a lot of these bands, but stop focusing on the "canadian indie scene." it's ridiculous.
Go Canada!
Metric is freaking awesome. They have an intense live show that will leave you amazed. When i saw them for the first time i wasn't expecting much, I thought their first CD was ok, but nothing too special. After the show it was a whole different story. I go to quite a bit of concerts and i would say Metric was one of my best of 2005. I don't think anybody can see a live Metric show and walk out of there disappointed or at least walk out not in love with Emily Haines - boy or girl.
For Real.
Feist is pretty cool too.

Feist is fucking incredible. I love her albums, but live she's a million times better. And she's insane when she plays with BSS, you can't tak your eyes off of her.
Everyone says what you said about Metric's live show, and though I do like their music, I've still never felt like I had to go see them. They're playing here in April, finally a show that's not 21+, and I'm not sure if I should go or not.

You shoud go if you want to have a new favorite band and a new crush on Emily.
They will do that to you live. I'm telling you.
