I want to have a song written for my fiance for our anniversary. I would write it myself, but I can't write lyrics worth a shit!

I am a recovering self injurer, and have been harm free for almost 2 years (will be 2 years on our anniversary). He is the reason I stopped cutting. He is still scared every day that I will go back to it.

I want a song that will express how thankful I am for saving me from myself. And how he doesn't have to worry because I'm not going back to that. I want it to kind of be a TWLOHA style, and something that could be put to music.

If anyone could help me out, I would really appreciate it. If the lyrics are what I'm looking for, I will even pay a little bit for your help.

Thanks!

I think it shouldn't matter how bad the lyrics are. What matters, in this context, is that YOU wrote them for HIM. Your thought and dedication will be the reward, not the poetic quality of the lyrics. You could write the best or worst poem of all time, and he'll still love you just as much for it.

What he said. Also, if you're looking for something like TWLOHA, there are tons of lyrics around here of that caliber.

You'll feel much better about the song knowing it's your own words, not someone else's. No one can put into words what the anniversary means to you, nor could capture the essences and nuances of your relationship. Have faith in your ability to make something meaningful - it doesn't have to be Shakespeare, it just has to be genuine.

Apparently not. It's a year later. Hopefully, she's writing another song by now.
