Tour started Tuesday night, and I went not knowing who swimming with dolphins or owl city was. Surprisingly I enjoyed swimming with dolphins. Owl City was decent too. Seemed that everyone was there to see Owl City because as soon as they were done half to 2/3rd of the crowd was gone. Lydia played last and was amazing as usual. Just wish they played longer sets.

I went to this last night, Lydia had a large crowd at ours, but they usually do when they come to Philadelphia. I don't listen to Owl City or Swimming With Dolphins and I wasn't impressed by the fact that I couldn't see their faces due to the three laptops set up onstage. Anyway, here's Lydia's setlist:

05/06 - North Star Bar, Philadelphia, PA

I Woke Up Near The Sea
A Fine Evening For A Rogue
It's In Your Blood
Smile, You've Won
This Is Twice Now
Stay Awake
Now The One You Once Loved Is Leaving
Jam/One More Day

That's what I thought, both of the dudes from Swimming With Dolphins is in Owl City's touring band I guess. I'm just not into watching a show where the only instruments being used are a synth and a guitar (for one song). I mean, they had a drummer but most of the music came from out of the computer. Also, the dude from Owl City told me and a friend of mine that he was possibly touring with Fall Out Boy in the fall, but it was a big maybe so it may not happen at all. Steve from Lydia also said that they'll probably be back on the road in August or September after they finish up the upcoming West Coast run.

Yeh, and on swimming with dolphins myspace they have him and the guy from owl city listed as members. I don't know why, but I do like swimming with dolphins for some reason, usually isn't my type. O well.

Why do they only play 8 songs?

Why do they only play 8 songs?

I guess because it was a co-headliner, so they have a 40 minute set time which is the same as Owl City. I'm not sure, I was hoping for more but I think they've been changing up the set because I saw videos of them playing Hospital in Boston and they didn't play it for us.

I was thinking of going, but don't want to see two bands I don't care for to get to Lydia. I hate it when that happens.

If Lydia plays second at your date then you'll only have to sit through one.

Lydia really needs to play more than 8 songs. They're always great live, though.

Any word yet on why Ethan hasn't been playing at the shows?

this is way too short. way too short. i can't stress this enough. they played this much when they opened for the dear hunter.

I contemplated going to this. In a way, I'm glad I didn't because that set is supppper short. On the other hand, they finally played Stay Awake. I've been 0/5 with them playing that song. Fuck.

I went to 5/5 Boston, 5/7 NYC and 5/9 Vienna, VA. All three sets were pretty much the exact same with some order changed, and one more or less song each day. I don't have much to say for SWD or Owl City, it's music coming out of a macbook. They did draw however, as Boston, and even more so, Vienna, were all there for Owl City. Mostly pre teens with parents and > 18. Lydia put on a short, but always amazing set each night.

I Woke Up Near The Sea
A Fine Evening For A Rogue
It's In Your Blood
Smile, You've Won
This Is Twice Now
Hospital
Stay Awake
Now The One You Once Loved Is Leaving
One More Day { they did not play this to end the set in Boston }

I was able to chat with Mindy and Leighton at the Vienna show and Leighton said after the west coast tour they would most likely be doing a full US tour in the fall before heading in to the stuido to record a new album.
