I really enjoyed that article. I liked the Belle and Sebastian parrallel, and "imagine the Arcade Fire if their music were more fun-loving and less grave," strikes me as a pretty accurate comparison.

Pretty impressive for Pitchfork to not only be referenced but be QUOTED in a NYT article. Hell, they didn't even say "Pitchfork Media", they just said "Pitchfork" like everyone knows who they are. Very cool.

I've tried to get into this band so many times. But i can't handle the vocals and trust me i've tried because i really love the music.

I love how they say no to the OC and yes to Conan. That's beautiful man.

Apparently they have a new single coming out next month with an unreleased track. I can't wait to hear it.

i love this band, and i think they are doing the right thing right now, especially with record sales going down due to mainstream music losing its taste, they definately have no reason to sign to a major......50,000 records and no label holy shit that is fucking amazing.

did anyone see these guys on conan? what a joke. how do you get a record deal with a singer like that? and dont tell me that he is really good in his own way, he is just original. being original doesnt give you an excuse to suck at something. this is a horrible band.

the music sort of resembles The Cure in a way, which i like, but the vocals unfortunately turn me off. not like a possible "worst singer ive heard" voice. but still..
