Will be experiencing this incredible event May 26th. And I will definitely post a setlist for NIN then.

I went, it was great! I got there a little after 7 because that's what they had on the NIN site, and I ended up missing 30 minutes of NIN and the first two bands completely. I think they played for about 2 hours, and then Jane's Addiction went on afterwards for what seemed like another 2 hours.
Oh, and the merchandise was pretty expensive. $35 for most of the shirts, $15 for a poster.
For setlists, I really only remember 3 NIN songs, I don't know why. The Hand That Feeds, Head Like A Hole, and I'm Afraid of Americans.

I'm Afraid Of Americans? Sweet. Did they play Closer do you remember? With the fan interview with Trent he said it wouldn't be on the setlist and I was just wondering if that actually happened.
maybe you don't know NIN very well?
Sounds like one of the people who saw them with me at this big festival in Miami in 2006.

Jane's closing, but Nine Inch Nails plays longer. Here's what Trent has to say:
Regarding the NIN/JA tour:
It was my idea, decision and job to convince all parties (from my own band to Janes') to play before JA. Here is why. We've become tired of the "formal", very structured LITS - type production and way of presenting the band. The idea of walking onstage as the sun is about to set and play a bunch of unexpected material that's exciting for us to play without the bogged-down, flashy production appeals to me. You get to see us in a way you haven't before. Yes, it's different. Yes, the set lists will amaze some and bum-out many others. Everyone had ample opportunities to see LITS, and that era is over. We play our set leading you into the evening bathed in only white light in a physically tight setup, then Jane's come out in full color and openness. The challenge for us is greater, the set feels much riskier (especially with the challenging flow of the set lists I'm making) and that makes it exciting and valid for us.
The NIN/JA tour is generally geared more towards the hardcore NIN fan. We're not trying to play the greatest hits - we've done that over and over. Don't expect the same shit every night - that's why I relaxed the camera / recording policy. You'll likely be able to find what you want out there somewhere, from wherever. I'm treating these last shows as individual, finite, precious events that I'm sure will result in some polarization of your responses.
See you out there.

You have NO IDEA how bad i want to see that. I'm going tonight and hopefully Trent will make up for how they've skipped over San Diego on their past few tours by playing The Perfect Drug for the first time...

This. I happen to love that song and I'd love to hear it live. I'm not that bothered about Closer not being in the set (although my friends are crushed) because I'd rather see songs not performed live before or regularly.

San Diego show was AMAZING. Even though the setlist lacked a bunch of great songs (partly because NIN just have so many great songs), they put every fucking thing they had into that performance. Trent was destroying the stage during Terrible Lie and March of the Pigs and broke his guitar during Head Like A Hole. Highlight for me was The Fragile. I've waited so long to hear that song and it literally brought tears to my eyes (along with Hurt). Wish I could see more stops on this tour, but I'm satisfied. I hope Trent continues to create music.

toronto, tonight (june 2, 2009)
Molson Amphitheatre.
I missed Street Sweeper Social Club because this venue starts all their shows way too early and takes way too long to load everyone in. I was in line to get to my seat for their entire set, but the closer I got, the better they sounded :P I also heard they did a cover of M.I.A.'s Paper Planes.
Nine Inch Nails were awesome. The guys Trent is playing with are great musicians and it was nice to see the band in such a stripped down setting (for them, anyway). Would've liked to have them play last, just because it seems more climactic that way (especially with Trent saying this is his last tour ever, and he seems to mean it). Jane's Addiction have re-united before (and will probably break up and re-unite again) - it just kinda felt like NIN should've been the "big deal" tonight.

no clue on the Jane's set. I know they played Three Days, Mountain Song, Been Caught Stealing, Sex is Violent, Stop and finished with Jane Says. I'm not too familiar with their stuff (clearly). Can't say I walked out more or less of a fan, but Perry is a fantastic dancer.

No, that was just on the LITS tour. This tour they're only playing for 90 minutes every night (exept Bonaroo) and have yet to play In This Twilight.

Yo! I went last night (Sunday June 7th) at Jones Beach in Long Island, NY. It was my first time there. Street Sweeper Social Club was cool, but it just made me want to actually listen to RATM. NIN KILLED IT (of course), and Jane's Addiction we're pretty good.

Just got back from the Merriweather show and it was incredible. Best concert I've ever been to. It rained pretty hard before hand and there was a delay because of lightning but it was still an amazing show.
Street Sweeper Social Club: I was really, really impressed with them. They kind of sound like a less rebellious, but still politically conscious version of Rage Against The Machine. Tom Morello has still got it! Played an absolutely insane solo on their last song. He also made a speech before it about SSSC and made a funny RATM reference, haha.
NIN: Incredible. They were spot on the whole time and had an insane light show going. They also played "Sin" which I was hoping for and I went absolutely insane when they played it, haha. Trent sounded perfect on "Something I Can Never Have" and "Hurt." The only song I wasn't really into was "Echoplex" but it was still pretty cool. Crowd went insane during "Head Like A Hole" and "Wish." There was also not a lot of talking between songs, they just kept playing and playing and playing. Loved it.
Setlist in completely wrong order:
999,999 (loosely)
1,000,000
Letting You
Sin
March of the Pigs
Burn
Something I Can Never Have
Echoplex
The Becoming
Right Where It Belongs
Gave Up
La Mer
Dead Souls
The Hand That Feeds
Survivalism
The Way Out Is Through
Wish
Head Like a Hole
Hurt (Encore)
Jane's Addiction: Wow. I'm a casual fan of this band (Mostly of Ritual De Lo Habitual) but they were phenomenal tonight. How they opened with "Three Days" was fantastic. Dave Navarro was on fire tonight. Holy shit, can he shread. I'm not sure who was more impressive guitar-wise; him or Tom. Perry was also funny on-stage too. Took a shot of wine between songs and made some funny jokes. "Hey ladies, you ever get with a man *crowd screams*...I wasn't done with my sentence. Do you ever get with a man and he doesn't get up. Who's problem is that? It's like a combination problem...like fixing a car." No fucking clue what that means but everyone laughed. I got a kick out of this, "Ah, who am I kidding, I don't know shit. But I am 50!" Their whole set was a blast. Tons of sing-alongs. Don't remember their exact set but here's what I remember;
Three Days
Whores
Mountain Song
Been Caught Stealin'
Ocean Size
Summertime Roles
Stop!
Jane Says

Just a fantastic setlist and a brilliant performance. I didn't even stay for much of Jane's - they were okay, but they couldn't live up to the standard set by NIN.
